Traditional Kitchen Boasts Two Islands
This spacious kitchen features two islands — one topped with Carrara marble and butcher block and the other topped with zinc. The zinc-topped island provides an easy spot for dining, while the other provides storage and prep space.
Symmetrical furnishings and a neutral color palette give this traditional living room a simple, clean feel. Great use of texture in the rug, coffee table and stone fireplace create visual depth and make the large space feel intimate.
Traditional Dining Room With Modern Accents From Sarah Sees Potential
As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, designer Sarah Richardson transformed this once dark and dated dining room into a chic, updated space perfect for entertaining. A new chair rail was added for visual interest and to allow Sarah to install two types of chic beige wallpaper. Dark wood accents in the table, floor and mirror balance the room's primary light, airy color and lend a "steakhouse" feel. Sarah finished the space by closing in an awkward half-wall with antique leaded glass windows repurposed from an old library cabinet.
Rich fabrics and aged accessories lend and old world feel to this traditional living room. Plush sofas perfect for entertaining circle around the wood entertainment center and border the back door for easy movement between spaces.
Black Leather Chair Focal Point for Traditional Living Space
A black wing chair in this living room picks up the burnished sheen of the leather-topped coffee table. Beige curtains blend with the wall color allowing the chair to remain the focal point of the room.
Traditional Kitchen Details Featuring Painted White Cabinets, Natural Stone Backsplash and Granite Countertops
A neutral, natural stone backsplash serves as a medium tone to create a softer blend from the white cabinets to the black granite countertops. Open wall space connects the kitchen to the dining room and provides a view of the letters spelling "Home" across the wall. Collections of flowers add fresh and vibrant color to liven up the room.
This beautiful kitchen is dripping with style thanks to its many custom details such as the coffered ceiling and oversized kitchen island. An old-school library ladder allows access to the lighted storage cabinets above, making the most of the kitchen's galley layout.
Traditional Kitchen Featuring Rich Wood Cabinetry, Gray Tile Backsplash and Green Granite Countertop
The kitchen island is outfitted in deep green granite with satin nickel plumbing fixtures. The gray tile backsplash compliments the tones in the countertop and the traditional style of the room's design. Built in walnut cabinetry frames the stove and range adding a warm toned element.
In front of the bay window, designer Ashley Yeates Lathrop created a sophisticated sitting area with a traditional-style chair and a tall side table with spiral legs. A coral-inspired lamp adds a beachy touch to this ocean-side guest suite.
Transom Windows Highlight Dramatic Ceiling in Master Bathroom
A transom window draws the eye up toward the vaulted ceiling detail in this luxurious master bathroom in a Martha's Vineyard home. Marble tiling is used on both the floor and backsplash for a cohesive look, and soft blue tones evoke the view of the ocean and sky outside.
