Contemporary Basement Multipurpose Room
This basement space serves as a family multipurpose room featuring a U-shaped gray and white sectional with stain resistant and eco friendly fabric, gray wood floors, and a black and white abstract print area rug.
Textured Subway Tile, Glass Pendant Light Add Artisan Look to Laundry Room
Textured white subway tile and a glass pendant light add an artisan look to what's typically a humble space: the laundry room. An abstract painting done in tones of blue and a navy-colored laundry hamper prove to be thoughtful accents as they tie in with the bold blues used in accents throughout the home.
This mudroom features a simple locker design that has space for everyone. Tile floors can take the abuse from kids, pets and wet shoes. White shiplap is adorable with the traditional coat hooks. The blue pendant light is a charming touch of color.
A built-in hall tree in the mudroom of this newly built farmhouse features a low bench with cubbies perfect for storing boot trays lined with shoes. Simple coat hooks line the paneled wall, while a high shelf provides space for display or additional storage. The crisp white palette is punctuated by soft gray trim that updates and distinguishes the architecture.
Nursery Closet With Pink Silk Flower Wall and Custom Art
This nursery's closet features built-in partitions for organization and is located next to a wall covered in pink silk flowers. Custom art, including a canvas that says "Endure" in the handwriting of the mother-to-be's late grandmother, adds a personal touch that makes the space unique to the family.
This spacious basement features a wall-to-wall shelving unit that has been fitted with convenient pullout drawers for stowing away small Lego pieces. The shelves also provide room for speakers that work with the home's integrated sound system.
Of course, no master suite would be complete without a luxurious walk-in closet. With recessed lighting, custom cabinetry, walls of mirrors and a tufted ottoman, this space easily resembles a boutique.
White Contemporary Mudroom With Built-In Upholstered Bench
Designer Justine Sterling transformed a low ceiling basement space in a 1920s Colonial with a primary focus to create a studio for the two little budding artists in the family. Besides creating a place for the kids, the basement space could solve some of family’s increasing need for a place to store shoes and coats by creating a mud room niche, a small laundry area and even an upgrade to the teeny powder room. A mix of high and low materials adds personalization and keeps the space from feeling cheap.
This laundry features white subway tile, grouted in black, which matches the window trim as well as the sink cabinet. Rustic wood shelves sit above a white farmhouse sink and between two hanging lantern lights.
