Transitional Laundry Closet is Functional, Stylish
Within the master bedroom was a small entry hallway and extra closet, creating a perfect spot to carve out a small laundry room. Full-sized stacked washer and dryer sit next to adjustable shelves for holding supplies. New louvered doors offer ventilation and flow with the home’s plantation shutters throughout.
Frosted-glass French doors create a grand entrance into the closet, which is now an opulent, glamorous space. The first thing to greet the homeowner is slanted racks displaying all her beautiful shoes, a girl's favorite accessory.
In this small laundry closet, not an inch of space is wasted. A countertop unites side-by-side units and forms a surface for folding clothes and stashing hampers. A hanging rod is fastened above to air dry delicates, while a splash of silver tile brightens even the most mundane chore.
A demure Louis XIV-style chair provides a perfect perch for putting on shoes in this glamorous custom closet in a London loft. Cabinetry and shelving extend to the ceiling to maximize storage. Meanwhile, an elegant vanity offers display space for decorative and functional accessories in the transitional space.
White, Transitional Closet with Specialized Storage
Customized storage and built-in seating turn this transitional dressing room into a space you could spend all day in. The center island features drawer storage, glass-topped jewelry storage and a plush spot to perch and put on shoes. A pale blue blown-glass chandelier adds sparkle.
With four children, the homeowners needed a space that would keep their kiddos' coats, boots and backpacks neat and organized. The designers delivered this fully functional mudroom, where each kid has access to his or her own locker.
In this renovation, designer Claire Paquin reconfigured a powder room and hall closet to make space for a mudroom the original house lacked. The clean, transitional space is light and bright, with all-white millwork and built-in storage that extends to the ceiling to maximize space. A fun, modern pendant continues the clean white color scheme.
Walk-In Closet With Dressing Area and Custom Storage
Designer Courtney Blaymore created a perfect dressing area and closet space with this glamorous room makeover. She provided double hanging units for easy access and retrieval and cabinets with drawers for foldable items. A glass-front cabinet is perfect for handbag storage, and a countertop, bench, lucite chair and crystal chandelier enhance the space's luxurious atmosphere.
This spacious walk-in closet has wall-to-wall closets with doors made of glass. Inside these well-organized closets, shirts are hung on racks, organized by color and type. A white dresser to hold jewelry and accessories is positioned along one wall in this closet.
A simple and sleek mudroom provides convenient spot for jackets, shoes and toys right inside the door. Stunning hardwood floors are the perfect juxtaposition to the ultra-white cubbies and cabinets in this tidy mudroom.
