Custom Mudroom With Chalkboard Wall
Herringbone floors are another flawless detail in this beautiful mudroom. Complete with a chalkboard wall, built-in storage and a comfy spot to take off your shoes, this space is brimming with custom features.
This mudroom features a custom, rust-colored backpack station. "When the kids come home, they remove any necessary notes and homework and hang their backpacks up," says the designer. "Once homework is done, it all goes back into the backpack ready for the next day."
Olive green cabinetry in this mudroom boasts ample storage for a busy family. Cubbies keep jackets and bags neatly tucked away, yet accessible. A built-in desk provides a quiet study or work space with drawers for mail and office accessories.
Collected candlesticks and fresh flowers create a pretty display in the vanity area of this custom closet in a London loft. Accessories do double duty as storage, including glass cloches that display rings, necklaces and bracelets.
Oversized drawers and a clothing rack line the wall and offer convenient storage space in this transitional double-duty game and utility room. A Ping-Pong table sits nearby, with other assorted sport and recreational equipment within easy reach.
The chalets feature plenty of architectural detail inside, as well, including exposed beams and rustic hardwoods. A live-edge bench in the mudroom is a nice design detail that helps give the space a rustic vibe.
Luxurious patterned carpeting and neutral furnishings balance out the bright pink shelving in this glamorous dressing room designed by Nicole Norris, ASID, NCIDQ. Details such as a contemporary gold chandelier add a touch of glamour to the space. Since the room was so large, several ready-made furniture pieces were added in addition to the custom shelving.
The two graphic print armchairs in this comfortable family room are on a swivel base, making it easy for occupants to join in on conversations or the big game on the flatscreen tv. The large green ottoman has a hidden storage unit inside, perfect for blankets or board games.
Walk-In Closet With Island and Patterned Wallpaper
Genevieve Gorder designed a spacious master closet with doors imported from Morocco, a stackable washer and dryer, and plenty of shelves and storage for clothes and shoes. The charcoal-gray patterned wallpaper with a tribal pattern is illuminated by an elegant glass chandelier, adding visual interest to the space, as seen on HGTV's Genevieve's Renovation.
This old colonial home had many smaller rooms that needed to be opened up and integrated to make the space more usable for a modern day family. In the kitchen, a board-and-batten wall creates a mudroom and built-in workspace.
This smartly designed and brightly colored mudroom is equipped with a potting bench, a sitting bench, a pegboard and even a pet door. The pegboard is perfect for hanging miscellaneous items when making a quick exit.
When transforming a spare bedroom into a glamorous dressing room, designer Nicole Norris, ASID, NCIDQ, turned the double-door reach-in closet into a custom-designed shoe display alcove with 1/2" thick glass shelves. Luxurious patterned carpeting, gold shimmering wallpaper and neutral furnishings balance out the bright pink shelving. Details such as a gilded tri-fold mirror add a touch of glamour to the space. Since the room was so large, several ready-made furniture pieces were added in addition to the custom shelving.
The walls in the dressing room at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2015 are covered with fabric inspired by a Matisse painting. Accents are meant to invoke dressmaker details, while the colors and lighting were selected to create a flattering environment for dressing.
