Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines created a new laundry and mudroom for the homeowners, complete with plenty of storage cabinets and shelving as well as a desk that double as a folding surface. A chalkboard backsplash will come in handy for taking notes and a metal letter "P" stands for "Purks". Brick floors were installed for a durable yet attractive look, as seen on HGTV's Fixer Upper.
Eclectic Walk-In Closet With White Modern Armchair
This walk-in closet has storage for jewelry, clothes, accessories and shoes. A modern armchair and flokati rug anchor the floor, while graphic wallpaper and a Greek key Roman shade add pizzazz to the wall.
A hanging shoe system on the back of a closet door is the perfect storage solution for saving space and staying organized. In this space, the bright pink color even coordinates with bedroom accessories.
A traditional, worn-leather Chesterfield sofa is whimsical when combined with a funky painting of a larger-than-life catfish. As one of the first rooms visitors experience when they enter this restored Brooklyn townhouse, the laid back design of this eclectic mudroom sets a comfortable, casual tone.
Who says a laundry room can't be fun? For this young family, Cheryl Scarlet of Design Transformations orchestrated a cheery, whimsical space with a bird-and-butterfly print wallpaper. The open shelving corrals portable laundry baskets, one for each family member and an extra for dry cleaning items. A pretty wall-mounted drying rack serves as a focal point and adds the illusion of a window.
This eclectic white entryway houses a functional mudroom featuring a contemporary storage bench. Wooden shelving is situated above the bench, creating additional storage options. Colorful geometric patterns are used to keep the space feeling lively and trendy.
The dressing room features the adaptation and repurposing of vintage Birdseye maple cabinetry circa 1950, obtained at an estate sale. Originally a built-in bedroom set, Designer Lauren Levant separated and rearranged the pieces to create the dressing room's closets as well as a new double sink vanity for the bathroom. She raised the clothes armoires onto a new continuous platform she built and lined with LED light for dramatic and efficient shoe storage around the full perimeter of the room. Between some of the armoires, Levant added hanging rod sections and accessory sorting solutions.
Talk about a short commute, and who needs an expensive wardrobe when you can work in your PJs? This unused closet was transformed into an attractive home office with the help of a few shelves and wallpaper.
The addition of a weathered wood desk adds to the functionality of this small laundry room space. The floral print of the roman shade and the modern trellis-designed wallpaper contrasts well with the desk to allow the sepia tones of artwork to make a prominent appearance.
The vision for this ground floor sports room was to provide a comfortable space for the family while maximizing the seating for guests. Using the concepts of scale and proportion, the designers were able to accommodate seating for up to 10 people, which was far better than the five they could fit on the old sectional.
