Entry Mudroom Offers Spot to Shed and Store Sandy Shoes
A bench by the door in the entry mudroom of this New Hampshire beach house provides a spot to take off sandy shoes, and individual hampers beneath it offer a place to stash flip flops or beach towels. The bold blue wall introduces the color palette that unites each room of the house.
Double doors make the entrance to this his and hers walk-in closet easy and inviting. Inside, open shelving provides enough space for a few personal accessories—a sailboat, framed photo and more—that give the room a homey touch.
The mudroom boasts a beachy feel with white shiplap walls and dark blue accents. Built-in bench seating on either side of the console table holds storage above and below and features blue cushions and striped pillows to add comfort.
This laundry room takes advantage of natural sunlight streaming through a tilt-and-turn window, which offers serene side yard views. A vibrant shade of coastal blue on walls is a fun way to jazz up an otherwise utilitarian space.
Textured Subway Tile, Glass Pendant Light Add Artisan Look to Laundry Room
Textured white subway tile and a glass pendant light add an artisan look to what's typically a humble space: the laundry room. An abstract painting done in tones of blue and a navy-colored laundry hamper prove to be thoughtful accents as they tie in with the bold blues used in accents throughout the home.
To create a designated laundry and mudroom for this home, designers repurposed part of the garage. They raised the floor, framed in walls and added heated floors (heavenly!). Doors: Sherwin Williams Pure White; Blue cabinets: Sherwin Williams Smoky Azurite; Mirror: Anthropologie; Hooks and cabinet pulls: Anthropologie
This wonderful mudroom has all the friendly personality of a seaside cottage. Wood floors were replaced with more durable limestone (echoing country villages' cobblestone streets). New shiplap walls were painted a beautiful robin's egg blue to contrast the cabinets' dark navy lacquer.
