Sandstone Backsplash Gives Guest House a Beachy Feel
The design of this sandstone backsplash helps to bring a beachy feeling to the space. Since the guest house is host to many pool parties, the designers wanted the space to feel as if it were a home off the coast.
Textured Tile and Open Shelving in Pool House Galley Kitchen
The pool house kitchen often serves as a wet bar and food prep station for the family's pool parties, so the small galley kitchen has been decked out in Ann Sacks tile and custom shelves. The tile backsplash gives the room a textured feel, while the open shelving helps keep the modern look of the space.
Modern Pool House Bathroom with Vinyl Covered Walls
The modern design is continued in the bathroom of this pool house with the clean lines of the vanity and toilet, as well as the elegant mirror that covers the back wall and makes the space feel large. The walls in this space are covered in vinyl to make them water resistant, while also adding a beachy, sandstone-esque texture to the space.
Modern Living Room Incorporates the Outdoors in Its Design
The modern living room of this guest house is reminiscent of a beach locale, with its relaxed furnishings, rugged tables and natural fiber rugs. To incorporate the modern, industrial design of the space, metal light fixtures were added to maintain the integrity of the design while helping to light the room. A sliding barn door cleverly conceals the entertainment center when it's not in use, and a Nano door opens poolside to open onto the patio where polished concrete floors continue out into the pool area help to make the seamless transition from indoor to outdoor.
Small Galley Kitchen Opens Onto Outdoor Sitting Area
A small galley kitchen that is often used for a wet bar during the family's frequent pool parties leads from the interior of the pool house to the cozy sitting area that lies between the pool and the pool house. The concrete floors tie the space together, helping the transition from indoor to outdoor become a seamless one.
Sliding Barn Door Hides Entertainment Center in Modern Pool House
The emphasis of this design is on the access to the pool, so designers installed a sliding barn door created from Oregon reclaimed lumber to hide the entertainment center when it is not in use. The wood and metal of this apparatus complement the industrial style the family desired.
