Eclectic Deck And Patio With Rattan Egg Swing
Glass panels on the deck railing allow for crystal-clear views of the backyard. A rattan, egg-shaped swing provides cozy, eclectic outdoor seating. Navy outdoor throw pillows serve as extra seating or a foot rest for the swing.
Eclectic Pool with Multiple Levels Mixes Water & Fire
The Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architecture of the residence called for multiple-levels of focal points in design and creativity. The vision was to intermingle fire and water with multiple fire pits, waterfalls and fountains to produce a relaxing harmony between elements.
This colorful, whimsical courtyard features every element needed to relax and entertain. At one end, a cozy conversation area is oriented around an entertainment armoire. At the other, a functional sideboard services a dining table lit by a two-toned glass orb. Colorful textiles and plantings pull together the fun space.
A two-tone glass orb lights up the dining space of this colorful and eclectic courtyard. Seating options range from modern metal to wicker, and colorful textiles scattered throughout the space bring a casual vibe. Mesh screening surrounds the courtyard, filtering light and providing privacy.
Drought-Tolerant Shrubs and Artwork Fill Otherwise Blank Corners
When she first visited the site of the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2015, landscape designer Katharine Webster noted blank, rectangular spaces in the entry leading to the home's front door. With voices of her Harvard professors in her head saying, "don't make corners for squirrels to die in," Webster filled the blank spaces with artwork and drought-tolerant shrubs.
Eclectic Porch Sitting Area With White Furniture & Buddha Statue
A white Buddha statue, among other Asian accents used throughout the space, introduces a Zen mood to this porch sitting area. Beautiful white furniture and sheer white curtains look even brighter against the natural background and neutral floor. Throw pillows add pops of accent color in red, purple and pink, while the pair of metallic tables adds a touch of glam to the design.
The raised beds were used to solve drainage problems the lot had. Stone walls allowed for screen plantings along the fence and have room to plant seasonal color in front of them to add some appeal to them. A dry creek bed with oversized gravel meanders throughout the backyard to catch all water runoff from the patio and surrounding beds.
A raised fountain features rotating colored lights, three fountain babblers and a cascading damwell covered in ledge stone. This outdoor space is perfect for relaxing and enjoying time with friends and family.
Not Your Grandma's Plastic: High Quality Artificial Grass
Purists will surely cringe at the mere utterance of the words synthetic and plant used in the same sentence. After seeing many examples of what’s on the market, we’ve determined that fake grass deserves more than a second look.
French Doors Fill Three-Season Porch With Natural Light
On the other side of this three-season porch, a large wood table becomes the perfect perch for some ferns. Just behind the plants, an oversized mirror reflects the natural light coming in through the French doors and makes the space feel even bigger and brighter.
Concrete Patio With Wicker Furniture and Colorful, Patterned Throw Pillows
Small wicker stools also work as side tables for serving drinks and snacks. Don’t be afraid to bring some of your indoor decor outside (if weather permits), like this fab small faux fur pillow or this indigenous concrete statue.
HGTV fan phxdesign turned the corner of her long, narrow, walled patio into a colorful outdoor oasis. She did all the mosaic work herself, calling it "easy, fun and therapeutic." She also says, "this is the first garden that I've ever created, literally from the ground up."
