Lacquered Cabinetry, Graphic Wallpaper Transforms Once Closet Into Inviting Wine Bar
Once a storage closet, the loft bar at the 2016 San Francisco Decorator Showcase is now fit to provide homeowners or their guests an easy spot to mix a cocktail. Designer Linda Sullivan shows how good design can happen in unexpected places by paring a blue, lacquered cabinetry with Timorous Beasties' Colonnade Blotch wallpaper and brass hardware.
Eclectic Hall With Seashell Decor and Floral Artwork
This eclectic hall features a modern white console table paired with a traditional white lamp and colorful decorative seashells. Blue and pink floral artwork hangs above, while medium grain wood trims the light blue walls.
Laundry Room/Craft Room Offers Place to Have Fun With Design and Color
The laundry room in this renovated midcentury modern home doubles as work and craft space. Smaller spaces offer the perfect opportunity to have a little fun with color and design as this room does with a bold blue filing cabinet, yellow stool and Hygge & West wallpaper.
Set against vibrant blue walls, this tumbled marble terrazzo floor comes to life with energy and color. A golden bar cart and 17th century Italian painting add antique charm to the space, as well as invite guests to drink and delight in conversation.
An industrial armillary chandelier draws the eye down this soothing blue hallway. Green kid-friendly accessories and bold abstract art in orange and aqua add spunk to this thoroughfare, which leads to a children's sleeping nook.
This kid's playroom has red carpet, red beanbags for chairs, blue walls with clouds and a corner stage with red-and-white striped curtains. A shelving unit next to the stage provides a dozen labeled storage containers for toys and games.
This second-story bedroom's outstanding feature is its sliding barn door. The wood tones match those of the contemporary stairway leading up to it. The bed incorporates a built-in bookcase, and the ceiling fan adds a midcentury modern element to the space.
Doctor's orders prevented the design team from using any wallpaper, paint or materials that contained high levels VOC. That means in places like this entryway, they turned to a painter who trained in Paris to create custom treatments. By layering an antique dresser and vintage art against the blue-and-white backdrop, the designers made the space feel carefully curated.
Walk into this incredible penthouse apartment and you're instantly in an artistic wonderland. Black and white striped floors set a dramatic tone underfoot, while the walls are covered in rich patterns and textured.
Jackson Paige Interiors pulled out all the stops when designing this Brentwood home's foyer, where coastal and contemporary designs combine for a fun signature look. From the bottom up, the room preserves its cottage roots; above the chair rail, however, purple teardrop wallpaper sets a contemporary tone, all of which cleverly introduce the design elements incorporated throughout the home.
A joyful mix of colors and patterns makes this crafting room an inspiration! Baskets and easy-to-access bins hold supplies of all kinds and there are also plenty of cabinets and drawers for hidden storage.
Jackson Paige Interiors added a dose of drama to the redesign of this Brentwood foyer by using purple for a punch of the unexpected. Baby blue wainscoting and a cream wall provide the backdrop for the large purple graphic design set on the wallpaper and used as art on the opposite wall. Talk about your conversation pieces!
Why travel to the kitchen for a cocktail when this lovely, living room bar cart is within reach? Jackson Paige Interiors created this niche within a doorway of the living room that functions well for a quick pick-me-up after a long day at the office. The luminosity of the glassware, light fixtures and other amenities against the darker teal wall confer a sophisticated edge.
The home's entry doubles as a floor-to-ceiling art gallery packed with one-of-kind creations appealing to adults and kids. To keep purses and backpacks in one spot, wall hooks were installed among the featured art. A foyer table in matching blue provides an excellent surface for displaying family photos, intimate lighting, and accessories.
