During the renovation of a home in Greenwich, Conn., Anthony DeRosa of DeRosa Builders was able to incorporate a wet bar into the design of the family room without adding on or stealing space from the seating area. “We fit the bar into a little-used closet,” says DeRosa. “We had cabinets custom built for the space. The biggest challenge was finding a sink small enough to fit within the tight dimensions.” Mission, accomplished.
Contemporary Entryway With Graphic Black-and-White Wallpaper
This interior designer's home is full of color and pattern! Beyond the front door, guests will find an entryway with black-and-white wallpaper, a wood console table, royal blue lamps and a teal ottoman.
A built-in bookshelf is artfully decorated with books and pretty accessories, while an adjacent closet provides hidden storage. Dark hardwood floors contrast against the bright white walls of the hallway.
The bar in this home's finished basement sits next to the open windows that lead to the outside bar. The bar has a cement top and is surrounded by unfinished wood to give an industrial feel. A built-in beer tap adds to the unique look of the area.
Black Accent Wall With Artwork and a Beautiful Bar Cart Display
The black accent wall and pastel wall art provide the perfect backdrop for this vintage gold bar cart display. Designer Notes: "My bar cart was super easy to style. It's vintage and has just the perfect patina, so just about anything looks good on it," says designer Naomi Stein of Design Manifest. "It's the place where I stock my favorite mixers and showcase my vintage glasses and fancy plates. Fresh flowers are a must to add beautiful aroma and color. The finishing touch for me is the painting above. It's like the cherry to my bar-cart cocktail."
Painting the paneling and beams white, instead of their former dark brown, brightens and modernizes the living room and bar area. Floors were finished in an ebony stain to further set the stage for lots of colorful accents.
Contemporary Entryway With Ebony Accent Wall and Modern Art
This contemporary entryway features a textured ebony accent wall featuring modern artwork, that provides stark contrast against the otherwise white walls. A metal and glass console table gives the area a unique edge, while a simple square wall mirror rounds out the overall look.
