Fun, Durable Living Room
To create a fun, livable room, designers added a durable, leather sofa that would be easy to clean. Then, they added Peter Dunham pillows and a Crate and Barrel coffee table to complete the space and add color and texture.
White walls, wood floors and exposed beams are the neutral framework for this living room's simple, organic look. Built-in shelving beside the tv shows off pottery and beach treasures. Doors allow easy outdoor access on both sides of the room.
A glass chandelier provides a fun finishing touch in this eclectic, colorful guest bedroom. Asian-inspired patterns adorn the custom upholstered headboard and an antique armchair. A folding screen complements the colors in the fabric and brightens an otherwise dark corner.
This eclectic powder room takes texture and patterns to a new level with tribal-inspired cloth wall coverings, a black and white striped ceiling, and geometric print color tiles. A black overhead light and small wall shelf complete the look of the space.
Charcoal Accent Wall in Midcentury Modern Living Room
Before Brio Interior Designs reengineered this space, the living room was cluttered and simple. Now, however, a charcoal accent wall gives the space dimension, while colorful, patterned accents add personality to the space. To alleviate the closed in feeling of the original home, designers opened up the wall between the living room, making the room feel large and open.
Rustic Outdoor Space with Stone Walkway through Native Plants, Perennials and Annuals
A stone walkway leads to the pool and hot tub, pool house, outdoor kitchen and dining areas. The landscape designer created an abundance of planting beds and used mostly native plants and some specialty perennials and annuals.
The pool terrace in southern Vermont is nestled into a hillside below the main house and offers a view of mountains receding into the distance. The terrace unites the pool, hot tub, pool house, outdoor kitchen and dining areas, fire pit and abundant planting beds.
Pendant lights illuminate this spacious country island with Calcutta marble counter tops and naturally finished wood cabinets. The stone fire pit on the stove top creates that rustic elegance by putting a modern twist on an old idea.
With plenty of seating and beautiful ocean views, this is the perfect place for family dinners or entertaining guests. The unique light fixture that hangs above the table feels old but looks new, giving the room a rustic elegance.
This walk-in sink area puts a twist on the traditional. It features an inset mirror, shelving built into the walls and no cabinet storage underneath. Instead of putting storage under the sink, the built in shelves allow room to place necessities while also saving space.
Glossy black subway tile and a patterned gray tile floor balance out the bold, colorful graffiti design on the breakfast nook dining furniture. In the great room, faux deer heads painted every shade of the rainbow inject a dose of whimsy and surprise.
A mix of bold patterns and colors dominates this Mediterranean-inspired sunroom. The streamlined sofa is upholstered in a bold blue hue that gets deeper as it falls to a waterfall skirt. A large, striped ottoman is multifunctional, serving as a coffee table or as overflow seating when the homeowners entertain.
Eclectic Blue And White Dining Room With Tiered Shade Chandeliers
Tufted, cream-colored dining chairs make for a classic, elegant pairing with the double pedestal dining table. Tiered shade chandeliers hang low over the table to make the dining space feel cozy and intimate.
Dutch hyacinth is a fragrance powerhouse in the garden. Its stocky blooms open in midspring, around the time that daffodils strut their stuff. The blooms release a rich, full fragrance that can fill the spring garden. Indoors, pots of forced hyacinths bring spring scents to life in the heart of winter. Plant bulbs in fall for a spring show in the garden. Choose flower colors in many shades, including pink, purple, blue, salmon, white and red. Hardy in Zones 4-8.
Cottage Kitchen Blends Traditional Elements with Modern Updates
The details in this kitchen are what truly brings the space together. The homeowners wanted a unique renovation, but were concerned with maintaining the home's integrity, so designers combined a few unique, more modern touches with traditional features to create this stunning kitchen. Wallpaper is used throughout the space to add color and warmth while maintaining the traditional feel of the home. The oriental rug between the kitchen island and the sink is another classic touch for the home. Even the gold accented light fixtures bring in the charm that the homeowners love about their home. The homeowners were opposed to white cabinets, so designers installed a countertop that had green hues, which inspired the green countertops in the space.
