Breakfast Nook With Black-and-White Color Palette
Just like the kitchen, the breakfast nook uses black, white and gray decor to create a classic color palette. In the center of the space, a round table and six chairs invites the owners and their kids to enjoy a quick bite together.
Broad sliding glass doors and copious windows allow this modern bedroom to enjoy sweeping, bucolic views. The modern home uses natural materials such as wood and stone throughout, tying the house to its secluded, rugged setting. A slatted wood ceiling adds interest above, while furnishings and decorations are kept spare and minimal, allowing the view to serve as the focal point.
Elevated, built-in storage cabinets offer plenty of space for kids to store their art supplies and artwork in this modern art room. Multicolor stripes add fun color and pattern to some of the storage cabinets, and there's ample room to create art at the kid's table nearby.
Those sleek silver hues continue into the master bedroom. Here, a chrome canopy bed and matching buffet will surely make the owners feel like royalty, while soft pillows and linens encourage rest and relaxation.
Spacious, Industrial Modern Bathroom from Sarah Sees Potential
As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, designer Sarah Richardson borrowed 20 square feet from a neighboring bedroom to allow room for a luxurious free standing soaking tub in this newly renovated master bath. In addition to the industrial fixtures and decor, a glass shower with a rolling door creates a contemporary look in this now bright and spacious room.
This light-filled living room uses soaring ceilings and clerestory windows to capture views of the adjacent garden. In turn, the owners can soak up natural light, cool breezes and greenery without even leaving their seats.
The elegant, modern table in the dining area comfortably seats ten with its stylish, modern dining chairs. The lines of the table and chairs remain clean, drawing the eye across itself to the windows that showcase the New York City views below, but the edges of the table are rounded, which softens the modern design of the space, making it feel a bit more homey.
Modern Dining Room Creates Statement Piece in Home's Main Space
The dining room in this open concept home stands as a statement piece in the main space. The dining set-a white, modern table and contrasting black chairs-and pendant lights draw the eye out the wall of windows to the beautiful view below the apartment.
“Our client had the fantastic idea to use rolling tool cabinets in her kitchen,” says architect Nick Pancheau. “We designed a simple kitchen island combining seating and storage in a single movable piece. We selected a lime-green finish to match the fritted glass lamp shades made by the client; a subtle dark-green soapstone countertop rests atop the cabinets.”
This modern dining alcove features a round glass dining table paired with zebra print upholstered chairs. Multiple vases with tall pink flowering branches and two wall hangings add an artistic vibe to the space.
The lines of the contemporary outdoor fireplace mimic the lines of the modern home to create a cohesive design. Crisp-white cushioned chairs with darker striped pillows make this a great place to chill out and relax .
This powder room adds surprise and drama with artfully arranged hanging pendants and asymmetrical plumbing. The custom cabinets, created with two veneers, and the onyx stone countertop also contribute to the unexpected.
