Designer Will Wick sought to create a cozy, '70s-style retreat that balances masculine and feminine and modern and vintage in the master bedroom at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2015. Wick selected a deep, hunter green for the walls and balanced the shade with lush, cream tones in the headboard, bedding, carpet and drapery. Plush carpet and a sofa covered with faux chinchilla fur add to the retreat vibe.
"What I'm not vibing on is the shade of green," judge Genevieve Gorder says. "It looks institutional to me." Judge Vern Yip adds that he's "baffled" by Mikel's color choice, seen on HGTV's Design Star.
