Modern Kitchen with Silver and Glass Hood Vent and Silver, Brown and Green Colored Tiles
Use recurring patterns and materials for a cohesive style throughout the kitchen. Designer Diane Foreman, of Neil Kelly Company used a mix of stainless steel and colored tiles for the backsplash of this 2016 National Kitchen + Bath Association Competition winning kitchen. The tile echoes the stainless steel in the sink and cooktop, and Foreman repeated a circular pattern throughout the room, a technique she says adds professional flair to the space.
White and silver are the luxurious palette for this large living room. A coffered ceiling gives the room depth. On the sofa, silver velvet pillows are a posh pairing with the room's other metallic details like the starburst mirror.
Metallic and Contrasting Neutral Midcentury Modern Foyer
In the entry of the home, designers chose to use colors that would acclimate guests to the home's bold metallic and contrasting neutral color palette. The artwork does exactly that, adding glam to the space without detracting from the apartment's beautiful views. Patterned wallpaper with a three-dimensional quilted effect was selected to envelop the space, while large scale, gold-leaf lamps sit on a console which emulates the wallpaper patter. To finish the space, designers hung a glass, Rod Sputnik chandelier for a spectacular statement upon entering the home.
A Byzantine-style alcove, the conversation room is crowned with an 18-foot-high central dome that is decorated with a floral hand-painted gold and blue design in 24k gold-leaf modeled after the church of St. John Lateran in Rome.
The culinary artist can certainly get down to business in this industrial-style kitchen that pays tribute to stainless steel. From the walls to the cabinets to the appliances, designer Andrea Michaelson achieves a coherent look in a silver tone, with contemporary artwork as the focal point in the room.
Contemporary Metallic Master Bedroom With Seating Area
Classic geometric patterns and luxurious textures give this contemporary master bedroom an elegant feel. Color tones in the bedding, furniture and rug are kept neutral to allow a pop of teal in the window treatments, with a small seating area at the foot of the bed.
