Brian made it feel part of the living space by extending the wallpaper into the nook, then arranging a low-slung banquette and small ottomans around a generous table. He kept the corner from feeling too cluttered by opting for a transparent table base to keep the footprint light. It’s the perfect spot for extra dinner guests, catching up on emails or game nights with friends from the neighborhood.
Rattan chairs with gathered string warm up this sitting area, bringing in natural texture and earthy tones. The neutral colors create a relaxing spot to unwind and watch the sun set through the large windows.
A screened-in porch was enclosed to create this wonderfully cozy reading nook and play room. To keep the project budget friendly, designers used board and batten walls, rough-sawn faux beams and simple, built-in shelving.
