Pastel-Striped Pink and Blue Stairway and Adjoining Living Room
A unique painted stripe pattern flows down a stairway leading to an eclectic living room designed by Bob and Cortney Novogratz. The candy-hued stripes on a plain white staircase add a hint of whimsy and fun. The living room is decorated with vivid throw pillows, a bold area rug and modern wallpaper.
White Dining Room With Modern Art and Colorful Accents
This all-white dining room boasts colorful accents, like the modern artwork that hangs above a metal console table with a white top. A pink, orange and neutral striped upholstered bench adds a fun touch, while floral throw pillows finish off the look of the space.
This living room is full of bold color, a fun juxtaposition with the room's Southwestern architecture including adobe walls and heavy wood ceiling beams. Green curtains pull the eye up; the blue media console pops off the wall, muting the presence of the tv.
Eclectic Living Room With Mustard Yellow Sofa, Patterned Wall Tapestry and Mixed Decorative Throw Pillows
A gorgeous wall tapestry featuring fuchsia and burgundy flowers sets a colorful backdrop for the mix of patterns and rich hues in this eclectic living room. A mustard yellow sofa is decorated with a collection of throw pillows. A pair of chairs with deep red cushions surround a clear coffee table over the faded rug.
Red velvet drapes hang on the windows in this traditional dining room with floral wallpaper that contrasts with the crisp white wainscoting. The long dining table made of dark wood is flanked with matching chairs and set with lime green linens and a floral centerpiece.
Original to the dining room, hand-painted wallpaper inspired the exuberant palette in this San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2014 With Good Company space. Designers George Brazil and Cecilia Sagrera-Hill paired an eight-sided table with an enchanted garden-like setting to create the perfect place to savor good food, good conversation and good company.
Though the first floor of this home isn’t an open plan, the living room and dining room are close enough to each other to require a few connections in their design plan. The stripes on the rug, the polka dots on the table runner and even the triangle patterns on the wall in the dining room all have correlatives in the living room. And where there is the biggest difference - the complete lack of art in the dining room - all of the colors on the wall have been taken from the living room gallery wall, creating some beautiful visual connections.
The star attraction of this spacious family room is the window treatments: The pattern is an intense floral with bearded dragons and Chinese lanterns. To balance out its boldness, the designers kept the room's other prints subtle: a medium-scale geometric on the rug, a small scale geometric on the sectional pillows and a casual, tie-dye stripe on the chair pillows.
Multicolor Contemporary Home Office With Orange Desk
A vibrant painting filled with loops and swirls inspires the color palette for this home office. An orange base is used for the desk, and an airy, green blown-glass lamp echoes the whimsy of the artwork.
