Designer Tiffany Brooks turned a space originally planned as the breakfast area off the kitchen into this handsome library with gray walls that offers a break from the hustle and bustle of the main living spaces in the home.
Antique Furniture Meets Boho Accents in Eclectic Library
Located just off the hall, this eclectic library boasts an impressive floor-to-ceiling bookshelf that's perfect for storing books and displaying prized possessions. Beneath a single pendant light, an antique sofa and armchair are adorned with bohemian accents, giving the room a collected feeling.
Bookshelves fill an entire wall in this light-filled, contemporary study with eclectic accents. A pair of cowhide Wassily-style armchairs form a cozy seating nook that's lit for reading by a single pendant. White walls make the art pop, creating a gallery effect.
This storage space achieves a romantically worn feel of a classic in-home library while keeping the room up-to-date with fresh white bookshelves. Classic lighting above each shelving unit adds both a functional and timeless touch.
Glass panels on the staircases blend in seamlessly, becoming nearly invisible, and look less bulky than traditional railing. White walls and a white ceiling, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows, keep the room feeling airy and bright despite the bookshelf wall's hulking presence.
White walls and bold, dark gray trim makes this library niche pop! The hardwood floors, cowhide rug and 1970's bench play off each other in an eclectic harmony. Bold artwork, a potted olive tree and the midcentury bar make this niche the perfect vignette.
Library With Built-In Wood Shelves and White Books
Designer Geoffrey De Sousa envisioned the Library at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2014 being used by an iPad-centric homeowner, whose reading materials are stored in the cloud. The white painted books, which were hand painted by Geoffrey and his team, giving this library a unique look.
