Bright Blue Library Pairs Tufted Sofa, Zebra-Print Rug
Turning right off the foyer leads guests into the owners' personal library. Wanting this space to feel carefully curated -- as though all the odds and ends were collected from travels abroad -- the designers combined a tufted sofa, traditional side table, floral armchair and a zebra-print rug. Walls painted bright blue help showcase the traditional wainscoting.
The clients needed a small dining table for special occasions. They had the brilliant idea to create a pedestal coffee table for everyday use that could be transformed into a dining table with semi-circlular leaves.
In this transitional library, the designer blends a mix of rich fabrics. A blue corduroy chair sits in front of the window with a watered silk and white sheer curtain, as well as a blue fabric window shade with beads.

Blue and Pink Transitional Library With Striped Curtains
Blue and pink are a surprisingly grown-up combination in this handsome library, in part because of the room's sophisticated details: a plush Oriental rug, tailored armchairs, a delicate coffee table. Stripes on the curtains are a hint of a jaunty nautical touch.
This Manhattan library starts with luxurious leather floor tiles on the walls and is finished with rich furnishings. An early 20th century French brass lamp sits on a Chinoiserie desk inlaid with bone. The red velvet sofas are designed after an antique the designer saw in Paris and have a custom trapunto back.
