Pink and Blue Eclectic Breakfast Nook
Mornings automatically feel more cheery in this colorful breakfast nook where blue paisley shades and cushions and pops of bright pink welcome the day with style. Gold accents are a sophisticated finishing touch.
To give the open space just off the entry a purpose, yet keep the center of the area open for traffic flow in and out of this apartment, two pairs of ready-made bookshelves purchased from an office supply store were placed back-to-back to act as room dividers. On one side, a private office is separated from the formal dining space and family room on the other side. The apartment's walls were painted peacock blue, which helps the walls recede so that accents of white and apple green stand out.
A family living room area was transformed into a bold and bright gathering place. The red, white and blue color scheme tie the room together while a combination of playful patterns add an unexpected and modern touch to this eclectic living space.
This connected room blends several styles to create an eclectic combined seating and dining area. Painting the wardrobe doors to match the blue walls gives the illusion of a larger space. The differing chair designs help break up the separate sections of the room. An Asian wall piece adds a break in color on the walls, and the silver table provides shine in the matte room.
Color galore! The blues of the ocean and greens of grass make this eclectic kidtastic living room come alive. Vibrant modern art and boldly printed rug create a whimsical space. The comfy sofa is chock-full of patterned pillows that can change with the seasons.
A Moravian star pendant light is but one shining aspect of this eclectic office. A dark wood desk sits atop a zebra-print area rug, while gold-patterned white curtains and trendy Roman shades adorn the windows. The light blue walls add color to the space that is carried into the curtains for a seamless look.
Home Office Adorned with Cozy Accessories and Floral Wallpaper
This eclectic home office, designed by Shelly Riehl David, is accentuated by orange, blue and dark brown colors. The blue and white floral wallpaper and black and gray flooring add texture and visual interest to the space.
"The eclectic contrast of color, pattern, even the mix of modern and traditional, gives this apartment character, personality and soul," said HGTV Design Star judge Candice Olson. The split wall is painted with a light blue on top and a darker turquoise on bottom. The plush red, pillow-like coffee table is a unique piece that highlights the room's red accents. The brown and white area rug brings a larger floral pattern to the room of solids.
Casual Dining Area: High Style Meets Function in Dallas
Just outside the wet bar, the home features a chic dining area with a round table and four low-profile chairs. A stunning globe chandelier hangs above the table, serving as the focal point of the room.
Eclectic Dining Room With Blue Suede Wallpaper, Striped Rug
A dining room with blue suede walls features a black and white striped rug, red leather chair and ornate gold chandelier. A small gallery wall with framed art and collectibles adds personality to the eclectic space.
A lot of things have changed in the over twenty years we've lived in this home, but not the shade of periwinkle paint in the living room. One of the challenges of the home is the lack of an entryway: the front door opens directly into the living room, a far from perfect design feature partly lessened by a wide front porch that acts as a buffer. The large photograph over the mantle is by Atlanta artist Jody Fausett.
This bold, Midcentury Modern desk becomes a statement piece in the office area of the eclectic living room. The large table top gives the homeowner plenty of space to work, while the unique color blends right into the design vision of the space.
