Red and Black Color Palette Offer a Bold Choice for Dining Room
The red and black color palette of this dining room makes a bold statement in this dining room. The neutral color on the walls makes these vivid colors pop, while the natural light from the surrounding windows helps to soften the light put out by the unique chandelier.
Modern Entertainment Center With Sliding Steel Doors
This apartment renovation included the installation of two black sliding steel doors that conceal the television and entrainment center. A gray sectional sofa and multicolored Oriental rug complete the look of the living room.
Bold charcoal paint covers the walls, millwork, even the ceiling in this contemporary home office. Black and white draperies call attention to the tall windows, while a white lacquered desk provides a modern contrast to the walls. An animal hide rug continues the color scheme and adds a touch of whimsy.
To add drama and a touch of Southern farmhouse style to their dining room, homeowners Jeremy and Amanda had a rustic farmhouse table lacquered in white, then added high-end black Maarten Baas Smoke chairs. The contrast between the white and the black adds high drama; the back wall was also painted black to delineate the dining room from the nearby lounge.
A palette of pineapple, charcoal gray and soft white lends a sophisticated, urban sensibility to the living room of the HGTV Green Home 2011, illuminated by a diffused fabric light designed by Tobia Scarpa. A floor lamp with marble base and stainless steel telescopic stem illuminates a seating area. Snow Bush, a framed photograph by Bruce Zander, anchors the nook and adds visual interest.
Captivating Art Deco Sitting Space With Black Wall Panelling, Green Velvet Chair and Prism Coffee Table
Black wall panelling with gold trim and corner embellishments adds texture and a sophisticated base for this sitting area design. Wand sconce lighting is mounted within the panels reflecting a warm glow on the black paint. The deep, vivid green of the velvet chair looks beautiful against the wall and black and white patterned floor. A geometric table adds the finishing touch to the sleek concept.
In this traditional lounge designed with Napoleon in mind, chalk paint becomes a thoughtful medium for capturing Old World details on a modern canvas. A gold velvet sofa and ruby-colored slipper chair pair well with a swirling mirror, making the space seem large and luxurious.
