Charming Kitchen and Dining Space
On the lower ground floor, windows fill the open kitchen with natural light and give the owners a peek into the garden. Crown molding and a white-painted fireplace help the dining space feel just as charming.
This kitchen is an entertainer's dream, with stainless appliances, a large island, four stools and a bright white breakfast nook. While the owners prep dinner, their guests can enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the same room.
Form follows function in the HGTV Green Home 2010 kitchen, where a tower support column that bears 18,000 pounds of weight is incorporated into the kitchen design on top of the island's ruby red CaesarStone natural quartz countertop.
White Transitional Open Plan Kitchen With Barstools
Subtle design touches add depth to the overall look of the new, pretty kitchen. The backsplash features gray and white tiles laid out in a herringbone pattern. The swoops on the upper cabinets echo the curved shape of the pendants.
When Kitchen Cousins Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri renovated this kitchen, they decided to remove a wall between the living room and dining room. Now that the space is opened up, the large wall graphic in the dining area adds a striking visual that extends throughout the space.
Tone-on-tone neutrals create an airy effect in the kitchen. Crisp white marble and creamy subway tile keep the surfaces bright and pearly, while recessed and interior cabinet lighting illuminate the nooks and crannies in the space.
Thick, exposed wood beams and a hardwood floor give this open concept kitchen and dining area a cozy, friendly vibe, warming up the crisp white walls. An upholstered bench makes for comfy extra seating for four-legged and two-legged friends.
White Transitional Open Kitchen With Metal Pendants
What could be a cramped galley kitchen now feels so light and big thanks to an open concept design and a white color scheme. Hardwood floors and a row of silvery pendants help lead the eye across the room and out the windows.
Wide casings and craftsman styling on this pair of windows blend with clean-lined white cabinetry and vintage-inspired hardware to give this California kitchen an elegant, yet casual air. Dark accents on the peninsula and built-ins create contrast, as does the dark wood bookshelf.
Open Kitchen With Dual Islands and Marble Countertops
This open kitchen is part of a great room that features a high ceiling with exposed beams. Two large gray islands with white marble countertops dominate the kitchen space while black marble countertops are used for the built-in cabinetry.
Open Kitchen With Vaulted Ceiling and Large Island
Useless walls enclosing tight spaces were removed to provide welcome openness. Gayler Construction added custom millwork to lend sparkle and distinctiveness. The result is a cohesive, light, airy and far more functional space.
Transitional White Kitchen With Dramatic Chandelier
The Winter Park, Fla., home doesn't have a formal dining room, so a custom leather banquette acts as a cozy eating area off the kitchen. Above the kitchen island is a large, rectangular crystal chandelier. Each crystal was hand-tied around the fixture, and as one of the first elements to greet guest when they enter the home, the chandelier makes for a jaw-dropping design.
