This kitchen design is based around a stone fireplace that anchors the open living space featured on HGTV's Kitchen Cousins. The interplay between the natural wood cabinets and exposed stone lends a rustic touch to the design.
As seen on HGTV's Home Town, hosts Ben and Erin Napier renovated the living room and foyer of the Rahaim residence. They removed an exterior door and added two large openings in walls to give the house an open feeling when entering the front door.
Coastal Open-Plan Dining Room With Upholstered Chairs
The open plan kitchen provides a seamless transition to the home's dining area. The clear glass tile kitchen backsplash glistens in the background of the stunning wood dining table. Upholstered light green dining chairs add a formal touch to the space while a bouquet of oyster shells creatively decorates the table.
Green Paint Adds Bold Twist to Sleek, Modern Kitchen Renovation
Todd Davis renovated this 1940s Noe Valley home in San Francisco to open the kitchen up to the adjacent living and dining spaces. A simple skylight lights the interior space while the bold, bright green paint on the back of the cabinetry provides an unexpected burst of color to the sleek look.
Although it steals some practical prep space, this stepped and curved kitchen island promotes social interaction. A green glass tile backsplash and open cabinet shelving creates a chic contemporary look.
Modern White Kitchen Set on Hardwood Floors in an Open-Floor Plan Design
The kitchen in this open-floor-plan home provides plenty of space for multiple chefs and entertaining. Dark wood flooring anchors the space while the cabinetry offers ample storage and the stainless-steel appliances lend a lot of high style.
Creating welcoming warmth within the flowing spaces of open-layout floorplans is important—and sometimes difficult to achieve. Designer Brett Mickan turned to color to do the trick in this Sydney, Australia kitchen. “The deep green hue makes the walls recede so the pieces within the room stand out. And, because the room looks out through a series of large glass doors towards the garden, I used a deep green tone with a grey base to create a color connection to the garden and focus the view out the windows,” he says.
The exposed beams and natural wood kitchen island countertop and dining table in this kitchen bring a rustic touch to the space. The green cabinets bring about a natural feel, while the French doors let in lots of natural light, as seen on HGTV's hit show Love It or List It.
