Wood Island, Wall Treatments Help Tie Kitchen Together
Because the kitchen is so open, designer Brooke Wagner used light wood accents to tie the space together. Thus, in addition to the wood beams and island, the room features wood around the windows, above the range and over the doorway.
This fun, family-friendly dining room and kitchen gets its color from bold furniture and accessories, including brightly patterned Mexican tile on the backsplash. Open shelving and a sleek waterfall design on the island give the space a contemporary, streamlined look that underlies the eclectic decor.
LABL studio kept the kitchen simple with white lacquered cabinets and subway tiles. Open shelving above the cabinets highlights Kettle's in-house design work, while a vintage schoolhouse table is a casual space for lunch meetings and conversation.
In this bright and happy kitchen, a long island provides space for six sunshine-yellow barstools, allowing the whole family to hang out while food is prepared. Mexican tile creates a fun and colorful backsplash, while open shelving adds decoration and keeps needed items at hand. The white backdrop allows accessories and fabrics to pop.
Modern White Kitchen Pairs Farmhouse Sink, Floating Shelves
Those wood beams actually work overtime, both infusing the space with warmth and drawing the eye to the far wall. Here, a farmhouse sink and floating shelves give the owners a stylish station for washing dishes.
An indoor swing, a teepee, a climbing wall – this bright and vibrant home was built for family fun. In this open-concept kitchen, dining and living space, white walls and architectural details form a clean, crisp background for brightly colored fabrics and accessories.
The kitchen and dining area are feel more connected in the open plan apartment through a pair of matching pendant lights. By painting the brick wall in the dining area white, the dining space maintains it's own identity.
Blue Shibori Chairs Add Boho Touch to Dining Space
For an unexpected bohemian touch, designer Brooke Wagner added two shibori chairs to the dining table. Thanks to their neutral print, they pair well with the other chairs while adding a little visual interest.
Unique Black Pendant Lights Illuminate Marble Island
Take a closer look at the pendant lights, and you'll find that they're covered in a black mesh material. As a result, they complement the wire barstools while creating a cool contrast with the marble island.
This fun and eclectic family kitchen combines design styles and offers whimsical details that give it a lighthearted flair. A long island features a contemporary waterfall top, while basket-style pendants bring a casual vibe. Open shelving hangs against a backdrop of colorful Spanish tile. Beyond the dining space, an indoor swing is a playful touch.
