This indoor-outdoor space features a kitchen complete with a sink and a stainless steel grill, as well as a dining table and chairs that fit the aesthetic of the Spanish-style Austin estate. Rough stone walls, arched openings and dark-stained wood are among the touches that define the home's style.
Neutral Mediterranean Kitchen with Neutral Dining Area
As seen on Home Town, Ben and Erin Napier completely changed the look of the dining area in the Watts Residence renovation. The room originally had dark paneling, dark cabinets, dark doors, and even dark railing. The new paneling and doors have been painted a brighter white and the new kitchen cabinets open up the dining room to give the whole living space a fresh, open feeling.
Bright orange and red tiles infuse this kitchen with energy; the color's warmth is carried into the cabinets and drawers via brass pulls. Behind the cooktop, another, more delicate pattern is framed in by simple black rectangles.
Yellow Spanish-Style Kitchen With Retro Pink Refrigerator
A vintage pink refrigerator is positioned against a yellow wall on which are several small clay animals. Brightly-colored iron chairs sit around a rustic wood table carved from a tree. A mosaic tile counter and painted hood continue the colorful look.
Colorful Kitchen With Handmade Ceramic Tile Countertops
Tile designer Vicki Morrow lined the countertops in this kitchen with her own, handmade ceramics. You could, of course, use purchased handmade ceramics – or even off-the-shelf squares from your local big-box store.
Kitchen Opens to Mediterranean Outdoor Living Space
The connection from the kitchen to the outdoor living area is an integral part of the design. The windows above the sink bi-fold to each side and completely disappear to seamlessly connect the spaces. Cream kitchen cabinets are paired with white countertops and a farmhouse sink for a clean yet warm look.
Since the main level is elevated roughly 12′ off the ground, it appears as though the house is actually sitting directly on the water. With several windows surrounding the space, the kitchen area has a lovely view of the ocean from any seat in the space.
A Spanish tile backsplash, green marble countertops and dark wood cabinetry offer a touch of Old World in this open kitchen. A butler's pantry sits just beyond the kitchen to help with food service in other parts of the home.
