Lots of Cabinets and Large Appliances in Communal Eat-In Kitchen
The third wall in the communal kitchen is chock full of cabinets with stylish, brushed nickel door knobs and drawer pulls to help keep everything organized, while the commercial sized appliances give the space room to accommodate its many occupants.
To create an interesting and stylish centerpiece, designers used an old blanket to give the table a little color. Then, they added milk glass vases and native greenery for life, warmth and rustic charm.

Bright, Open Design in Modern, Rustic-Industrial Kitchen
Designers wanted to create a bright, open look in this kitchen, so they brought in white cabinets grounded by gray countertops. For a pop of color, they decided to paint the island a light gray color. Then, they added a Neolith marble countertop to the island which, along with black matte fixtures and an apron front sink, combines the farmhouse feel with the industrial touch.
Use Scale and Material To Create an Urban Loft Feel
Among the hallmarks of loft spaces are their size and the visibility of materials that might otherwise be hidden or treated to a smooth finish: metal pipes and ductwork and well-worn wood flooring, for example. Architect May Sung explains how she used these elements to loft-style look: “In this kitchen, we utilized proportion and texture to create interest to the space. The texture of the reclaimed wood juxtaposed next to the industrial element of the table legs created warmth and coziness, emphasized by the over-scaled ceiling pendant.”
