Green and White Kitchen with Farmhouse Flair
Spring greens and crisp while millwork turn this sunny kitchen into a happy space for cooking, dining and simply enjoying life. French doors, transom windows and skylights bring in loads of natural light. Meanwhile, contemporary light fixtures add a splash of modern style to the room's traditional farmhouse feel.
Metallic accents—gleaming silver jars over the fridge, golden pendants—dress up this large kitchen with elegant panache. The kitchen island seats at least five, making it the perfect, easy spot to enjoy a laid-back meal.
Originally, this kitchen was small and outdated, and the layout was not conducive to multiple people working at the same time. The designers moved one of the boundary walls back 4 feet to enlarge the space. A large island in the middle can be used for prep work and also provides a place for guests to gather.
This view of the back of the island and sink area highlights the good traffic flow around the island and the designated work zones of the kitchen, so more than one person can cook at a time and guests can comfortably visit with the cook while meals are being made.
This kitchen's backsplash tiles, in a pretty Moroccan-style pattern, were custom-made for the space. The counters look like marble, but are a more durable material, better for the homeowners' family of six.
Contemporary Farmhouse Kitchen With Vintage-Inspired Backsplash
Contemporary upgrades and tastefully curated surfaces fill this farmhouse-inspired kitchen. Eclectic pendant lights hang above the marble waterfall edge kitchen island providing plenty of storage and seating, while the wall of windows above the farmhouse sink give this space lots of natural light.
A trio of skylights bathes this traditional, farmhouse-style kitchen in natural light, while four pendant lights offer plenty of task lighting for the island breakfast bar. White cabinetry hides appliances and extends to the ceiling for extra storage, while a soft spring green on the island adds an unexpected punch of color.
Now here's a genius plan: One side of this kitchen island is stocked full of storage. The other side features a cozy breakfast nook with a built-in banquette. Microwave: Thermador; Floor: Bayler Aztec Gris
In this kitchen makeover, a large island was added to provide much needed countertop space. It has enough room for barstools—easy hanging out and casual meals—and chef-grade appliances installed beneath the counter.
Stainless Steel Features Add Professional Touch to Kitchen
An oversized stainless steel hood and stainless steel countertops create a professional look with easy-to-care for sensibilities to this modern kitchen. The steel complements the distinct veining in the marble backsplash
