Contemporary Kitchen With Rich Brown Cabinetry and Mosaic Tile Backsplash
A blue and brown mosaic tile backsplash serves as the focal point of this contemporary kitchen, standing out against the dark brown cabinetry. The stainless steel appliances are built into the cabinets for a streamlined look.
Earthy tones, like warm browns, terracottas and grassy greens, are used for a Tuscan-inspired color palette in this kitchen. Knotty wood cabinets pair with dark gray countertops and a stone tile backsplash, while neutral tiles and an Oriental area rug ground the space.
Mediterranean Kitchen With Large Rustic Island and Pot Rack
Designed by "HGTV Star" contestant Anne Rue, this rustic Mediterranean kitchen features a grand flagstone hood surround, a custom-designed, reclaimed wood pot rack, and contrasting inset cabinets with exposed hardware.
Contemporary Kitchen With Sleek, Exotic Wood Cabinets
Afrormosia wood cabinets with horizontal graining lend a sleek yet warm look to this contemporary kitchen. Finishing the cabinets with simple, beautifully crafted satin nickel pulls adds a tasteful, architectural flair to the space.
Open Floor Plan Combines Kitchen, Dining and Living
Kitchen Cousins John Colaneri and Anthony Carrino took a narrow and dated galley kitchen, blew out some walls and created this beautifully open floor plan in a luxe new space that marries kitchen, dining area and living room. The window between the dining area and living room is actually a single, large span of glass. The framing elements -- technically termed mullions -- create the effect of individual panes and are actually a decorative accent added separately.
This contemporary kitchen design features an open design with a kitchen island, dark cabinets, stainless steel appliances and white countertops. A tiled backsplash adds some small color to the white and brown kitchen.
Galley Kitchen With Glass, Stone and Dark Wenge Wood
This contemporary remodeled space squeezed a lot of design elements into a small galley kitchen. A mixture of glass, stone and dark wenge stained wood makes for an exciting backdrop framing the beautiful Chicago skyline.
The contemporary kitchen overlooks an open floor plan living area with dining and seating areas. For a streamlined look, built ins are set into the main wall, housing all electronics, the fireplace and shelving. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls take full advantage of the Big Sky, Mont., views.
Roomy, Rustic Kitchen With Hardwood Floors, Coffered Ceiling and Bonus Seating Area
This large craftsman kitchen boasts, among other nice finishes, a beautiful hardwood floor that carries through to a sitting area opposite the kitchen island. Paired with the exposed beam ceiling, the floor makes a big impression on visitors. This kitchen arrangement takes advantage of a wide expanse to provide plenty of seating and gathering options. The center bar in a painted finish complements the dark natural finish on the wall cabinets.
The kitchen is reconfigured to showcase a central island with waterfall edges and light open shelving. Custom walnut cabinetry with brass and matte black accents keep it feeling both warm and masculine.
This kitchen was opened up to the living room by simply cutting a hole in the wall. Brown wood cabinets with glass-front doors provide storage while a six-burner gas stovetop and stainless steel range hood make cooking meals a breeze.
Commandeering four square feet of floor space from an adjacent room created a larger, more squarely-shaped space. Jeannine Williams Design installed new ductwork to improve ventilation and rewired the space to increase lighting and services. Doubled storage space includes a new island.
The beautiful floral accessories upon the elegant, white countertop adds interest and dimension to this kitchen. Designer Michelle Rohrer-Lauer added exquisite, colorful dishware and glass fronts to the existing kitchen cabinets to add visually appealing and decorative accents to the space. The design makes for an aesthetically pleasing, transitional-style kitchen with real-world functionality for the family.
