Rustic Chic Living Room With Natural Wood Paneling and Exposed Fireplace
By removing a wall, what was once a small room feels much larger, offering a comfortable flow between the living room and the dining room. In the process of removing the wall, Chip Gaines found the original fireplace and decided to keep it as a unique design element. Original shiplap paneling was revealed and kept as wainscoting around the house, and natural wood cornices were installed around the windows. A large, Art Deco style light fixture illuminates the room, as seen on HGTV's Fixer Upper.
Curved stone walkways meanders through the gorgeous gardens that make up this property's exquisite grounds. A vast array of foliage, trees, and flowers along with the narrow walkway create a tranquil and intimate space.
Featuring a wolfhound made of plaster from an old French Chateau, this sepia-toned mural of the countryside painted on the walls of a master bedroom adds charm and allure. The tulips add a pop of color, and a small lamp illuminates the room and mural perfectly.
White Country Bedroom With Fireplace and Exposed Beams
Exposed white beams and walls painted in a chalky white create a crisp palette for this bedroom. Antique French linens and furniture upholstered in vintage menswear fabrics add to the soft look. A dark fireplace with a white mantel provides a lovely focal point and offers a cozy sitting area in the space.
The pitched roof of the bedroom allows for chic, cozy nooks. A burlap-covered bench is paired with textured pillows and simple artwork with a distressed frame, while traditional French doors lead out to a balcony with views of the farm's horse paddock.
Although there is much to see and experience at the back of this home, nothing is more inviting than the simple lines of the swimming pool that awaits a willing participant. From the pool, one can view the beautiful covered patio and rustic pergola that sit side by side as interesting contrasts. The simple lines and textures of this outside scene, as designed by Mark Scott and Associates, are a amalgamation of French Provence design.
French Country Kitchen With Open Plan, Curved Bar, Glittering Lights & Pillars
A curved bar with glass cabinets creates a surprising visual centerpiece to this elegant open floor kitchen and provides a fun place to showcase glassware. Pillars break p the space from Callcatta Quartzite countertop to ceiling, which appears seemingly detached due to the illumination from recessed lighting in the molding. Shimmering pendant lights and chandelier illuminate the floral accents and island.
The wall molding adds visual interest to the solid yellow color. A striped and floral headboard and matching draperies complement the wall color and add feminine touch to the space. An antique portrait is framed over the bed, and a metal and crystal chandelier adds elegance to the room's delicate patterns.
Painted pottery sits on yellow shelves in this Tuscan kitchen by designer Linda Adams. Natural light streams through the window, and potted plants and a bowl of oranges dot the counters. Blue and yellow tiles and a tiled backsplash are partnered with yellow and blue cabinets to give this cozy kitchen an Old World feel.
HGTV Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines painted the original fireplace brick white and added shiplap paneling and a natural wood mantel. The living room is dressed with French Country accessories, books and topiaries.
