Adventurous Boy's Room With a Nomadic Tent
The perfect retreat for an imaginative, active little boy, this fantastic bedroom featured in the San Francisco Decorator Showhouse 2014 features rugged leather, denim, canvas and rope. Designer Regan Baker selected furniture, including a large-scale nomadic tent that is easily moved and rearranged to further encourage active enjoyment of the room.
Contemporary Orange and White Kitchen With Eat-In Island
Designer Kari McIntosh Dawdy transformed this kitchen with bright colors and accents, giving this 1920s home a more contemporary feel. She selected white cabinets and gray countertops that can handle the orange tones that pop within the room. Especially captivating is the soft orange-colored ceiling that helps to frame the entire design.
Thick velvet curtains in rich fall colors were the palette inspiration for this master bedroom. The strong color is continued in the headboard and velvet chair. A dresser-turned-nightstand solves a need for extra storage.
Vibrant Orange Accent Wall and Thick Navy and White Striped Linens in Boy's Bedroom With Pair of Twin Beds
This kid's room design uses fun, bold, preppy colors and geometric patterns to make the boys’ room look both youthful and classic. Instead of the traditional bedside tables, the designer used a large console table between the beds. A pair of patterned cubes beneath the table pull out to provide seating for playtime or homework.
A rust-orange wall in this kitchen provides sharp contrast to the room's dark wood cabinets, drawers and kitchen island. Stainless steel appliances, a stainless steel hood and built-in range add to the room's contemporary feel.
Bold orange walls provide contrast against dark wooden cabinets in this contemporary kitchen. Three art panels decorate the neutral wall facing the kitchen, adding texture to the sleek room. Pendant lights hang above the white peninsula countertop, illuminating the casual eating space.
Contemporary Orange Living Room Features Cozy Seating Area & Wall Mirror
A long, dark orange wall adds color to this long, open design without overpowering the space. A soft gray sofa and matching armchair provide cozy seating, while the floral throw pillows echo the orange hue. A glass coffee table adds a lighter, shinier detail to the design and fits well with the large mirror propped on the wall.
The showpiece of the contemporary, neutral kitchen is an 11-foot island, which adds extra counter space and provides a spot for the family to eat and gather. A tree decal on an orange wall provides a graphic touch and complements with wood cabinetry.
This stunning view from the kitchen to the dining room and the lounge area of the great room shows the consistent color scheme and coordinated look for these main indoor living spaces of this lodge-style retreat.
Custom Media Cabinetry With White Exteriors and Orange Interiors
The interior of the custom media cabinetry pops with bright orange paint and accent lighting. The use of orange throughout the media room was inspired by Benjamin Anderson's "Stingray" painting, chosen to honor the homeowners' love of cycling.
