In the powder room, designers wanted to continue the comfortable, modern ranch style they started in the living room, so they anchored their design in the white shiplap that covers most of the walls in the house. Then, they added a wood vanity with a gray countertop that echoes the colors of the furniture in the living room. Finally, designers added a bit of edgy contrast with a black mirror, black fixtures and black sconces.
In the powder room downstairs, designers went with a stylish, black and white, penny round tile floor. Then, they covered the walls in a metallic, geometric print wallpaper and ran black baseboards around the base of the wall, creating a space that makes a statement for guests as they wash up for dinner.
Black and White Powder Room With Fornasetti Wallpaper
Braving an unconventional wall pattern — like this wallpaper with signature black and white faces by Piero Fornasetti — is a great way to create a strong impact in a small space. The overall black and white motif in this eclectic powder room is offset by the bold red vanity.
