To replace the red-tinted trim of an outdated bedroom, a light cream color was chosen to give the bedroom a softer feel. From there, the rest of the redesign was a piece of cake, resulting in the warm, stylish bedroom the homeowners had hoped for.
Designer Genevieve Gorder converted the former living room in the adjacent apartment into a luxurious master suite with a hand-carved bed from India and custom wood floors. An antique sewing machine is repurposed as a nightstand, while a glowing contemporary chandelier brings a sleek touch to the room's eclectic style.
A muted but moody palette puts a fresh spin on a masculine space. The large beach scene with battered boats steals the show while the bed’s super soft linen bedding makes you want to curl up and nap the day away.
This neutral kid's room proves that a space doesn't have to be colorful to be fun and playful. Built-in cabinets flank both sides of the bed, creating functional and stylish bedside tables. An upholstered headboard with two rows of nailhead trim is custom-built to fit the space, and reading lights above are a practical addition. Dinosaur-printed bedding and a pair of acid green pillows bring punch and kid-friendly flair.
This handsome bedroom, one of 10 in the home, features two sets of double doors open ing onto a large private patio. The patio itself shows off the glorious waterfront setting, with views of the ocean and setting sun.
White Master Bedroom With White Bedding and Custom Bed
Designer Genevieve Gorder created a stunning master bedroom retreat. Gorder repurposed antique sewing machines as nightstands on either side of her hand-carved wood bed. Luxurious white bedding and simple artwork above the bed create a calm, tranquil atmosphere, as seen on Genevieve's Renovation.
As seen on DIY Network's Rehab Addict, this girl's bedroom features much of the original wood and tile. Kid's bedrooms are very important to Nicole as she always wants to ensure that her restored homes are family friendly. She used a collection of salvaged and antique toys along with some of her son's photos and artwork to stage these rooms.
White, Transitional Bedroom with Fireplace, Balcony
With the rustic ceiling beams, French oak floors and crackling fireplace, this all-white palette in this oceanside bedroom is anything but cold. Soft hues and varied textures are at play in the fabrics and furnishings. An oversize rug provides softness underfoot, and a subtle chandelier adds femininity. Meanwhile, a balcony opens the space to the beautiful, sweeping outdoor view.
Crisp whites and bright greens are meant to capture the essence of summer and spring in this transitional master retreat. Wood tones and an airy feel help capture the seasons while neutral linens perfectly frame the windows, letting in lots of natural light.
