Subtle Patterns, Textures Create Serene Setting in Master Retreat
Subtle patterns and textures are the stars in the retreat-like neutral master bedroom at a Connecticut estate home. The watercolor-style lines of the focal wall offer the serene feel of either the desert or the beach, and the wall's tones are echoed in the finishes and fabrics throughout the space.
Love It or List It's Hilary Farr completed this bedroom redesign with a palette of complimentary natural colors. She pulled in natural elements, such as the natural wood headboard, newly refinished wood floors, and natural bedside tables, to accentuate the relaxation guests feel as soon as they enter this room. Touches like the framed pictures above each night table and the added bedside lights help to modernize the space to meet the needs of a busy family.
Matching nightstands, mirrors and lamps flank the upholstered bed in this transitional bedroom for a design that's symmetrical and balanced. Blue accents add color without disrupting the calm, soothing feel of the space.
In this transitional gray guest room, a family heirloom chest of drawers serves as the centerpiece for a masculine yet glamorous space with Hollywood Regency flair. A gray upholstered bed flows smoothly with the gray walls, and wood furnishings ground the space and add a touch of classic style.
This serene and sophisticated master bedroom is the perfect retreat, with a subdued gray palette to accentuate the natural light spilling in from the French doors to the courtyard. A brass chandelier hangs above two cushioned armchairs and a side table with framed art.
Pale Gray Transitional Bedroom With White Brick Fireplace
Master bedrooms are supposed to make a grand statement, and this one does not disappoint. With soothing gray walls and a muted color palette, everything about this room is designed for relaxation and peaceful retreat. The fireplace adds another layer of ambiance.
Bold blue colors give this transitional master bedroom a lively feel from the vaulted ceilings to the warm hardwood floors. A blue dresser sits across from the bed with a pink and blue patterned quilt, which pairs perfectly with the throw pillow on the neutral, comfy armchair in the reading nook.
Using neutral tones, traditional details and handsome textiles creates the feeling of luxury and grandeur in this large, stunning master bedroom. A nailhead-detailed dresser beautifully balances the tufted headboard and upholstered chairs in the seating area. Soft bedding and sheer curtains add tenderness to the space while a tray ceiling breaks up the scale of the room.
To replace the red-tinted trim of an outdated bedroom, a light cream color was chosen to give the bedroom a softer feel. From there, the rest of the redesign was a piece of cake, resulting in the warm, stylish bedroom the homeowners had hoped for.
The master bedroom walls have a faint blue-green color, similar to sea glass, that provides a soothing backdrop for the black and white accents used throughout the space. On the white bed, a pair of green decorative pillows with a geometric pattern pick up the wall color.
