Hot pink bows, cozy throws and tutus make this girl's nursery look as fun and feminine as possible. Over the crib, monogrammed wall art in a rich purple hue ensures that everyone knows exactly who's in charge.
The star (and moon) of the room? The beautiful accent wall papered with a whimsical birch forest twinkling with stars and a friendly crescent moon. It's a sweet serene setting that will grow along with Baby.
Multicolored Contemporary Nursery With Sparrow Wallpaper
The whimsical sparrow wallpaper served as the inspiration jumping off point for this charming nursery. Walls were kept a soft neutral to allow the wallpaper to stand out, and another bold pattern was introduced in the yellow and white rug.
The palette in this nursery is soft and dreamy, neutral shades that take their inspiration from the natural world. For visual interest, designers layered in inviting textures: a trio of wall hangings over the changing table, a cloud-like rug, a thick crocheted throw.
This nursery proves that a neutral room can be warm and wonderful. Texture brings in inviting softness via details like the fringed rug and feathery pendant. Gold polka dots sparkle up one accent wall.
With oodles of style and personality, this contemporary nursery is a must see. Soft and subtle blues pair with velvet-flocked wallpaper and pops of rainbow colors to create a dynamic space for a baby boy.
The client wanted a room that reflected their boy's name, "Jonah" without being literal. This nursery is a perfect example of how a room can rock a theme and stay sophisticated, timeless and relevant. This big boy's space will not time out through the use of bold color, dramatic pattern and mature furnishings.
Tricks of the Trade:
1. How to Balance a Bold Pattern: Make sure your colors have a weight to it that can hold up to the bold pattern. Designer Karen Wolf used bright mid tones to balance the whales and also showcase them.
2. Why Red?: The black pattern called for a "power pop". The playful and strong red color was able to shine on its own in just right amounts in the room.
3. Sweet and Strong: A great mix for a room to grow. The sweet patterned window treatments are offset by the strong wallpaper.
4. Pattern Mixes: The dense wallpaper was mixed with a small window treatment print and open graphic with white field on the floor.
This boy's nursery fits a lot of style into a small space. A black and white chevron throw and graphic pattern rug add a touch of sophistication. Other details include a wooden crib with an espresso finish, an armless rocking chair and a rocking horse.
The Clarke and Clarke patterns—on the throw, the crib sheet, the pillows—are what take this neutral nursery in a decidedly chic direction. They're bold and sophisticated and, mixed together, so much fun!
