Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines transformed a depressing room into a bright and festive nursery for the Purks' baby on the way. The old wall paneling was removed and replaced with light blue painted drywall with white trim.
Since the "big boy" bedroom and nursery were adjoining, designers had to create spaces that would complement each other as well as be sophisticated enough to grow with the boys as they get older, so they created a "dipped" effect that made for the perfect backdrop for the Astronaut Big Boy Room and the Whale of a Tale Nursery.
The star (and moon) of the room? The beautiful accent wall papered with a whimsical birch forest twinkling with stars and a friendly crescent moon. It's a sweet serene setting that will grow along with Baby.
This posh baby boy's nursery features an all-over gray and neutral palette with splashes of teal, as seen in the curtains and floral design on the rug. Illustrated wallpaper lines the room, while a white armchair and ottoman provide a cozy spot for cuddling with baby.
This royal prince nursery, designed by celebrity nursery designer Sherri Blum, features baby blue, creamy white and silver to give it an ethereal appeal. An heirloom-quality pewter iron crib, an antique silver changing table and a beautiful chandelier complete the elegant, regal design.
Don't think of beige as boring — think of it as a blank canvas. Look for geometric rugs in bright colors to punch up your bland carpet. If you can't settle on a hue, designer Holly Marsh suggest to "start with a color or a toy that makes you feel happy. You'd be surprised how far that one element can take you."
An eclectic mix of color and pattern provides plenty of stimulation in this stylish nursery. A stunning patterned ceiling with two pendant lights is the highlight, while a blue striped wall and fun pops of orange liven up the space.
This natural wood crib makes the mountains pop off the walls and helps to tie the room together. The faux fur bear hanging over the side of the crib lends to the feeling of the Alaskan tundra that inspired this space, while the yellow bird mobile adds a free-spirited feeling to this part of the room.
Stars and stripes forever make a bold splash in this boy's nursery where ample floor space and clever storage solutions make it a room that will grow right along with its owner. The built-in bench is a fun, convenient way to bring in extra seating.
