Bright and White Bedroom
Allison says that the bedrooms in her family's 2,400 square foot home are relatively modest. "The beauty of the space is it's little bedrooms and big living space," so that family and friends are encouraged to gather in the open-plan, public areas of the home. A neutral palette of white in the master bedroom makes the perfect backdrop for a large oil painting and colorful upholstered headboard. Chief, the Australian labradoodle commands center stage on the bed.
Neutral, Traditional Bedroom in Massachusetts Coastal Home
This neutral, traditional bedroom is the picture of tranquility, with its soft painted furniture and waterfront view. A room-size carpet provides softness underfoot, while a fireplace adds warmth and coziness to the space. Neutral walls and trim run throughout the Cape Cod-style home, which rests on Chapoquoit Island in West Falmouth, Massachusetts.
Crisp white curtains and bed linens have a dreamy effect on this master suite. After a day out in the sun, the owners will love curling up with a book or stretching out on their canopy bed for a quick nap.
White Traditional Master Bedroom With Orange Bench
Soaring ceilings, open doorways and mostly white decor make this master bedroom suite feel light and refreshing. Sheer curtains at the windows provide privacy without blocking light and carefully chosen accents like the bench and wood dressers add color and texture.
Neutral tones and textured bedding give this worldly master bedroom a sophisticated feel. Patterned carpeting and a printed black-and-white bench give the space some depth paired with a traditional wooden nightstand.
Traditional Neutral Master Suite With Brown Accents
HGTV fan EastTN2 converted their seldom-used attic into a sprawling master suite complete with a spa-like bathroom, entertainment lounge and bedroom proper. The suite's three areas are clearly defined yet still feel connected, courtesy of partial wall dividers like the floor-to-ceiling draperies separating the bedroom from the rest of the suite.
Designers used gray and blue as the neutral foundation for this home's color palette, then livened the look with interesting patterns and family antique heirlooms. In this bedroom, the result is comfortable and elegant.
The expansive master bedroom mixes a beautifully tufted bed with creamy white bedding and metallic dressers-turned-nightstands. The room opens up to a cozy seating area, complete with a glam chandelier.
High-grade nylons combine our favorite factors: durability + stain-resistance + oh-so-cushy. Kelly Sutherland of Connie Vernich Interior Designs says, "Go with a rug that is soft, plush and comfortable on your feet, but that also has stain-resistant qualities. I love a high-grade nylon, for example. For this particular rug, a patterned carpet with great scale was selected. The rug material is very soft underfoot and easy to maintain as it is constructed from a high-grade nylon. The edges were serged in a matching thread to the carpet to provide a high-end traditional rug finish. Don't forget the final touch – a quality rug cushion ensures extra comfort while keeping the rug in good shape for as long as possible."
