IDF Studio was hired by a young, design-conscious couple to transform their newly purchased Noe Valley home into a relaxed, modern retreat. In perfect harmony with the home’s crisp architecture, we created a design that exudes the clients’ warm, understated style.
Horizontal lines and a restful palette of grays and blues make for a peaceful urban retreat. In this modern master bedroom, a two-tone, custom floating shelf with drawers balances the mounted flat-screen television, perfect for viewing in bed. A wall of windows frames the sweeping city view.
One of two master suites, this penthouse bedroom offers warm wood furnishings, plush brown carpet and balcony access. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide striking views of downtown Dallas both day and night.

The sleek master bedroom of this Malibu home features a wall of glass that offers a sweeping view of the Pacific Ocean. White walls and gray tile provide a neutral backdrop that allows the water view to steal the show. A gray sofa creates a modern and functional sitting area, while a surfboard adds character as wall art.
Muted Palette Evokes Natural Feel in Master Bedroom
The finishes in the master bedroom are muted to focus the attention on the view of the tree beyond. Pops of color and texture break up the muted color scheme, adding interest and pizzazz to the sleek, nature-inspired space.
This black and white bedroom has lots of unique details. The padded headboard gives the space a comfortable, modern feel, while the contemporary art work brings even more personality to the space. The clean, white, linen bed coverings bring light into the space while adding to the relaxing atmosphere of this beach house.
With black trim around the windows and a chic faux-fur chair, this corner of the room feels stylish yet comfortable. A houseplant offers some shade from the morning light, allowing for easy reading, and accentuates the room's tall ceilings.
Simplicity and peace are the order of the day in this master bedroom that gets full advantage of sunrise views. Furnishings are neutral and cater to the senses: a plush rug, upholstered bed, furry, fringed throw.
The Leitao master bedroom is a beautiful, minimalist retreat. Black walls are on-trend, and envelope the space, creating a cozy vibe. The dark walls in Kenza and Julio’s room are also a great backdrop and visual contrast for the art and architecture. Above the bed, another image by French photographer Patrick Demarchelier, of dancers from Batotu Yetu is is the perfect artistic touch.
In the master bedroom, designers kept the modern theme at the forefront of their design with simple, muted colors and clean lines, then they brought in heavy, wood grained furniture to incorporate the rustic feel into the space.
