Kids' Room with Built-in Homework Nook
Each of the two homework nook's floating desks were configured with enough depth to accommodate books and games as well as laptop and desktop computers once the boys are old enough to use them for school. Instead of pairing the desks with themed children's chairs, midcentury-modern Bertoia chairs were added.
The top floor of a Brooklyn townhouse was opened up so all the rooms flowed into one another and created a huge floor for the kids. This bright, contemporary kid's room receives a nice burst of color with the floral and revolver print bedding. Castle-shaped headboards finish off the whimsical design.
With two nightstands on either side of the daybed, the kids are never far from books or glasses of water. A navy blue sconce complements the room's color palette and allows for late-night reading on the weekends.
Girls' Bed Styled With Gold Sheets, Sequined Pillows
To further tie the room together, designer Lexi Westergard outfitted the girls' beds with gold-printed sheets that complement their mirror and other accessories. In turn, the space feels fun but also a little bit glam.
This whimsical room feels like the first day of Spring with the floral wallpaper, blissful hues and a little sprinkling of everything magical. From the crochet swing to the charming decor, this space is sure to make any kid (or adult) feel like they're in a fairy tale.
White, Contemporary Girl's Room with En Suite Bath
This white, contemporary girl's bedroom benefits from ample windows and glass doors that bring in loads of natural light. From a sleek glass desk to a crisp upholstered bed, furnishings are minimal, but fun. An en-suite bath makes this a perfect nest for a tween or teenage girl.
Blue-and-white striped and solid green bedding with complementary poufs add a spark of energy to this kid's contemporary white bedroom. The sleek and bunk beds utilize the wall space of the room, creating an open area for games and projects.
This contemporary kids' bedroom is the perfect place for sleepovers and playtime. A bright palette of red and white mixed with an array of playful patterns created a sophisticated yet youthful retreat.
White, Contemporary Kids' Bedroom with Attached Bath
A pair of petite upholstered beds makes maximum use of space in this fresh and functional kids' room. A large rug grounds the sleeping area and provides softness underfoot. An attached bath continues the room's white palette, though colored shades on the light fixtures connect to the deep navy hue of the beds. White walls and pops of color are this room's defining elements.
"We wanted something that would be fun for the kids and spark their imagination," said interior designer Carrie Maniaci about this birch forest bedroom. Custom murals and materials make this room come alive while the custom built bunk bed really sets this space apart.
Instead of covering all the walls in blue, designers instead selected accent areas: the ceiling, a strip above the desk, an alcove by the window. It's a stylish way to bring in color, but also keep a lighter, snappier feel.
All of designer Claire Paquin's selections for this little girl's bedroom are comfortable and classic. For example, these matching barrel-backed armchairs are sophisticated enough for a teen yet are a fabulous addition for a three-year-old child. And who doesn't love a touch of hot pink for a sweet little girl?
