Coastal Bathroom With Blue Floor
To use a dark color in a space and maintain a light, airy feel overall, focus the shade in one main area, like the floor, ceiling or an accent wall. This bathroom pairs navy floor tiles with white walls and countertops and a blonde wood vanity.
A cramped bathroom with lots of character, designer Clifford Scholz was able to create a sophisticated, coastal look with what little space he had. A shimmering chandelier and a stunning mural add decoration without taking up space.
Tile that's designed to look like weathered wood carves out the shower in this soothing guest bathroom. The wood-look tile pairs with a white shower curtain and nautical rope to create a coastal feel that coordinates with the home's overall design scheme.
For funky, chunky bathroom knobs, head to arts and craft supply stores. If you’re redoing a small space and just looking for a couple of knobs, you can find an affordable selection there, says Jennifer Foster with Eanes Foster Design. For her daughter’s bathroom, she found lightweight painted resin knobs that matched the Benjamin Moore Coastal Paradise paint on the walls. The wave series of paintings -- originals by Foster and her daughter -- were a way for mother and daughter to bond while decorating with cheap canvases.
