Formal Bathroom With Unique Details
A sink basin carved from solid marble and a custom-designed shower opening are among the standout features of this elegant master bath. Marble floor tile laid in an intricate, graphic pattern and elaborate millwork combine to give the room a formal feel, but an eggplant-colored ceiling brings intimacy to the space.
White, Modern Bath with Eclectic, Bohemian Ambiance
Sinuous lines on the freestanding soaker tub and side chair merge with geometric tile and a bohemian-chic rug in this fun and eclectic master bath. A bubble lamp adds another curving line, as do round mirrors and additional modern lighting. White walls connect the space with the rest of the mid-century modern house.
Quirky Bathroom with Newspaper and Photographs on Walls
Your bathroom should reflect you, the homeowner. In this quirky bathroom, a collage of newspapers and photographs papers the walls, layering personal memorabilia with crisp, white hand towels hung on a traditional brass bar. The homeowners used wallpaper paste and clippings that related to their work, lives and interests to create the attention-grabbing (and informative) effect.
Being ardent Scuba Divers, the clients requested that their show stopping powder room be a true reflection of their marine expeditions! To create the illusion of flowing water, the designer installed a tile with an aquatic pattern, which when put together created the desired cascading effect. Anchoring this set-up is a dark-stained cherry slab panel door cabinet that hides the plumbing.
Eclectic Powder Room With Recycled, Light Up Blue Countertop
A motion sensor enables the counter to light up automatically, welcoming guests into the powder room with a soft blue glow. The clients couldn't be happier with this everyday fix to their deep sea calling.
Complementing the light, flowing feel and effect of the tiles, a recycled Ocean Blue glass countertop creates a visual effect with a glow resembling a reflecting pool. A clear vessel bowl allows the beauty of the countertop to shine through and refrains from overpowering the vanity.
Modern Vanity and Backsplash Create Clean, Bright Master En Suite
In the master bathroom, designers used a modern cabinet to anchor this eclectic space. The straight lines create a clean, orderly space, and a modern, gray tile backsplash completes the design. A green and white patterned rug complements the eclectic master bedroom and ties the spaces together.
Because this was a rental space, designer Steve McKenzie couldn’t make any structural changes in the bathroom. Instead, he spruced up the space with a bright shower curtain from Target and a new mirror. This bathroom update was part of a Dwell with Dignity project, which works to help families who are struggling with poverty.
Influences from architect Frank Lloyd Wright are seen in this powder room with the rhythmic play of the decorative vertical wood ladder detail, horizontal stacked bands of solid surface material and wood for the vanity. Additional warmth and interest were added with three stacked metal horizontal sconces. The vertical band of mirror visually expands the space, and the chrome faucet disappears into the mirror, creating a waterfall experience into the sculptural stone sink.
