The bathroom was designed to be feminine and chic but have some 'aged' looking finishes for that shabby chic aesthetic. Mismatched hardware was added not only to tie in to the design look but also to provide a labeling system for the drawers.
The entire dressing room and wet room feature a porcelain plank tile in a distressed wood pattern, readily sourced from a local home improvement store. Vintage Birdseye maple obtained from an estate sale was repurposed to finish the new vanity design.
Most people want a bathroom that looks, above all other things, clean! This space reflects that desire, using a classic black-and-white design that always feels sharp and pulled together. The brass sconce and fixtures are a current-day update to the chrome and silver that have dominated the market in past years. Drawers under the double vanity hold essential bathroom items, and an angular brass tray between the sinks displays flowers in simple crystal vases.
Warm woods on the vanity and mirror frame contrast nicely with the cool Carrara marble countertop and flooring in this graceful, minimal bathroom. Brass finishes on the lighting and hardware likewise add warmth to the space.
Tiffani Thiessen Master Bathroom with Barn Door Track Vanity Mirror
A large nine-foot window was replaced a small window in this master bathroom renovation to bring in light and give an unobstructed view to the yard's landscaping. A mirror was mounted on a barn door track to allow mobility of the mirror without obscuring the view outside.
A clean-front Craftsman vanity is paired with geometric hardware for a modern feel. Neutral floor tiles mimic the look of the countertops, while a gold-framed mirror helps to visual expand the bathroom.
Light cream tile is used on the top half of the wall, adding height to the space, while the lower half creates contrast with a soft brown tile. Neutral mosaic tile grounds the space, and the double vanity features distressed wood cabinets and speckled countertops. Gold mirrors add a touch of glam to the room.
A layered mirror design creates a beautiful effect in this transitional bathroom. The light color palette keeps the room bright and inviting, and light fixtures are mounted to the mirror to keep the space illuminated. Stone countertops and a glass-enclosed shower complete the sophisticated design.
To add some variation to the guest bath, the designers chose a chartreuse green tile color for the shower space and paint color for the sink room. For some warmth and age, barn board was used on the ceiling, and a local maker built the cart that serves as the vanity.
A pop of light turquoise coordinates so well with the chartreuse. Above the faucets are bypassing medicine cabinets that also have electrical in them, hiding toiletries and adding more storage.
