To update a dark and dated kitchen, the space was opened up into the adjoining sunroom, expanding the space and introducing plenty of natural light. Color and whimsy are added via bright glass orb pendant lights and yellow chair cushions that really pop.

The kitchen island has a stainless steel base and is lit by colorful glass orb pendants. Designers used balloons to get the positioning just right.
This kitchen features a white farmhouse sink, arabesue pattern tile backsplash and white quartz countertops. The white upper cabinets tie in with the quartz countertops keeping the space bright and airy, while the dark stained lower cabinets have a dramatic effect.
Ceiling Beams add architectural interest and coordinate with the darkly stained lower cabinets. Having two light fixtures over the island gives the space a sense of scale and the tile backsplash and colorful rug add character and a touch of personality. Gray bar chairs provide seating for the kitchen island and a nifty display shelf provides storage/display options.
Soft colors are brought together artfully in this serene master bedroom. The crown molding coordinates with the headboard and curtains while blue chairs and orange accent pillows provide a splash of color.

Cheery Living Room is Light, Airy and Bursting With Color
Removing the heavy bookcases on either side of the fireplace made an immediate difference in the transformation of this living room by Designer Bailey Austin Bird.
Removing existing window shutters added much more natural light, which created a warmer, lighter feeling space. Patterned sheers paired with the solid charcoal panels make the draperies stand out as both functional and beautiful.
Designer Patrice Flashner Fitzgerald likes the contrast organic wood brings to a space that is modern and sleek. She says, "The warm, earthy feel of the finished birch is a surprise every time the client opens the doors."
Each of these furnishings were designed by Addison Bruley to compliment this contemporary Hollywood Hills property. It was important to have products that would stand out and be something unique as well as functional. The colors are meant to be dramatic yet inviting and soften the harsh architecture.
