The great hall was inspired by the great center halls of shingle style houses—generous in size and timeless in beauty. The center hall connects the major rooms on the first floor: the broad living room, the octagonal dining room and the cubic stair hall.
Featuring patterned rugs as wall hangings and keeping a Southwestern design, this railed hallway overlooks the living area of this home. As the hallway makes a turn, four peekaboo doorways reveal framed artwork of a complementary theme.
The hallway of this beautiful French Country home are not left out of the renovation. The walls of this hallways have been outfitted with a lovely coat of yellow paint that reflects the natural light that enters the home through the large French window, making the space bright, warm and inviting.
Alex Ray, of Five Senses Art Consultancy, was inspired to illustrate a move away from technology back to the basics of communication through an installation of hand-cast bronze letters and ancient symbols, as seen at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2014. An overhead view from the staircase shows the letters tumbling down a white wall where dark brown hardwood floors are accented by a yellow carpet runner.
Featuring a cheerful all-over blue color with yellow accents, this modern hallway provides the perfect welcoming spot. A yellow striped bench with storage cubbies and a mirror can be easily hidden by similarly colored drapes that hang from either side of the nook.
A circular steel rolling cart with shelves is used as make-shift bar space in a hallway with hardwood flooring. Nearby, a wood table with an accordion-style base displays a vase with yellow flowers under a framed mirror.
