This eclectic entryway features bold black and white stripes on the walls, a Victorian gilded mirror, antique wall-mounted lighting and a glass table seated on repurposed molding. Mismatched frames and a rustic wooden bowl create an inviting personality in the space.
The stunning grand foyer boasts a double staircase, making a statement from the moment guests arrive in the home. The dining room and library sit to either side of the staircase, while just through the center is the living room.
Upon entering the foyer, a view of the stunning traditional staircase is juxtaposed by clean white walls and contemporary lighting – the first example of the seamless transitional style found within the rest of the home.
The side entrance has the utility of a mudroom with its tiled floors, storage console and umbrella rack. A guest house to the east echoes the main residence with a gambrel roof, covered porches and shingled facade.
Elements used throughout this special home are introduced right in the foyer, including the glass-and-black iron front door, dramatic chandelier, vintage rug and rustic wood floor. An olive tree brings in nature. Chandelier: Arteriors
The foyer is the first chance any home has to show off its unique style, and designer Claire Paquin takes full advantage of the opportunity. Walls are covered in a delicate floral pattern that gets contemporary zip from a purple console table and two striped stools.
