This light and bright dining room features a natural wood table paired with brown dining chairs and a modern chandelier overhead. A wall-to-wall buffet provides plenty of cabinet storage, as well as a built-in desk space that is the perfect solution for small spaces, like this apartment.
HGTV Design Star judge Genevieve Gorder says, "In order to make the brick wall the focal point, it's necessary to pull back on the opposing walls. They should've brought in light, creamy, smooth textures to give the space a greater sense of grandeur while highlighting the earthy color and rougher texture of the bricks."
Though a formal dining room, this space is kept unfussy with contemporary decor choices by designer Amy Zolin. An organic wallcovering adds unexpected texture to the space, and the pattern is echoed in the home's master bedroom. A table with clean lines includes exposed butterfly joints for extra visual appeal.
Cozy and elegant, the formal dining room features fireside seating on either side of the dining area to enjoy company after dinner. Above, a beautiful coffered ceiling adds texture and contrast to the warm wood paneled space.
Prior to the renovation, the dining room was isolated from the kitchen and seldom used. Kitchen Cousins Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri removed a wall to unify the spaces and create this open and inviting dining area with a beautiful farmhouse table.
This room is both a library and a dining room. It features a built-in bookcase with custom millwork, a buffet and niche for art. The look is modern with touches of Asian influence. The dining chairs are also custom and feature Lee Jofa linen velvet with brass nailheads on the back that complement the modern fixture above the table. The window-side table is the final custom piece with a gray marble top and steel base.
Conveniently located right by the kitchen, this dining area features a fireplace and formal furnishings that bring an air of elegance to the traditional design. Warm wood paneled walls pair with a textured, honeycomb ceiling for a classic, sophisticated look.
This modern dining room features a wood accent wall that continues onto the ceiling, giving the space an organic flair and connecting it with the surrounding living room and kitchen. A free-form wood dining table pairs with mid-century modern chairs, while a constellation-inspired pendant fixture adds a fun conversation piece along with functional task lighting.
The remodeled dining area -- in warm wood tones, muted gray-greens and charcoal -- exemplifies the casual, comfortable vibe the Kitchen Cousins were going for with this renovation. To add historic character to the dining room, stamped-tin tiles were installed on the ceiling. The tiles are in varied patterns alternating between linear, medallion and floral designs. An impressive chandelier adds a touch of elegance to the space.
