This bright, Tudor kitchen features new recessed LED lights installed in the ceiling with dimmers. The wall cabinets have a LED light under them, mounted at the front for maximum task lighting. The wall cabinets also holds the state-of-the-art tracks with outlets at 6” on center, providing all the plugs one could ever need without breaking up the clean look of the backsplash tile.
The designer removed most of the wall between the dining room and kitchen resulting in an 8 foot cased opening, making the rooms feel and work as one. The crown molding above the cabinets was continued around the room.
The most unique part of this Tudor kitchen is the unique vignette surrounding the oven. The state-of-the-art oven was created with a vintage look, despite it having all the modern day conveniences of a new appliance. Just above the oven, there is an inset in the white subway tile backsplash that provides a focal point for the kitchen, as well as a place to set spices and oil for easy access while cooking. The Vent-a-hood has been concealed behind drywall, painted and given moulding to make the space look a bit more elegant, while still keeping the modern necessities present in the kitchen.
In this Tudor kitchen, designers aded aspects that would modernize the space, while make sure the new design kept true to the integrity of the historic Tudor home. The walls are painted a light yellow color that makes the space bright, while the white cabinets and black soapstone countertops help to create a unique contrast. The upper cabinets are glass paneled, creating a more modern display case, while the lower cabinets are updated and have plenty of room for storage. Wood panels cover the kitchen's major appliances to help them seamlessly blend in with the design and create a sophisticated space full of all the modern comforts with plenty of traditional charm.
