A teen bedroom designed by Niche Interiors features richly patterned black-and-white-paisley wallpaper, an ornate chandelier, and bright pink walls. Black-and-white-striped curtains and a white shag rug add even more fun to the room.
A floral print adds a fun, feminine touch to this entryway. Although the space is fairly small, designer Sarah Wittenbraker used a statement light fixture and stacks of books to pack the room with personality.
This contemporary kitchen has white painted cabinets, herringbone patterned tile backsplash, white marble topped work island with sink, pendant task lighting, and stainless steel appliances and vent hood.
The distressed leather club chairs pair with a glam bar cart that lead into the kitchen and breakfast room. Black-and-white peel-and-stick tiles make a contrasting statement for the floor, while brass chairs surround the contemporary white table. A gallery wall of art fills the space from floor to ceiling.
The contemporary kitchen features a black-and-white color palette with stainless steel accents. The large black island with a stainless steel countertop provides bar dining with sleek barstools. The original 1970s house was constructed on a series of telephone poles cantilevered off the canyon floor, so they become a unique part of the interior design.
This small, contemporary wine bar packs a punch with striking details. Black and white, wall-mounted wine holders create an artful display in this stylish urban space. Exposed light bulbs hang from an eye-catching ceiling fixture and a state-of-the-art wine cooler adds additional storage.
Sink into this clean, comfortable bedroom at the end of a long day and you're sure to feel relaxed almost immediately. The symmetrical look of the space — matching end tables and globe lamps are situated on either side of the room — adds to the visually soothing feel. Funky pillows and a faux fur throw add a modern element to the space, and the black accent wall makes the white elements in the room pop.
Blue pendant lights add the only spot of color in this chic contemporary kitchen where the palette mixes grays, black and white. Open shelving beneath the island offers handy, easy-to-reach cookbook storage.
A streamlined vanity pairs with a hefty countertop in this contemporary bathroom. A tall cabinet provides storage for towels and other bathroom necessities. A soaking bathtub features a black tile surround that carries over into the adjoining walk-in shower.
The family of five needed lots of seating and prep space in their kitchen, but they also wanted the space to remain stylish and functional, so they added an oversized island with a Viking prep sink and two Viking dishwashers to handle the abundance of dishes a large family is sure to create. The extra large area of the countertop gives the family plenty of space to prepare their meals, as well as lots of space underneath for storage. With its sleek, clean lines, the island not only added functionality to the space, but also gave the family the contemporary aspect they were looking for. The breakfast area just on the other side of the island meets the same requirements for the family. A dark stained dining table seats six, while the padded banquette adds to the contemporary feel to the space, with its metallic, tufted fabric and throw pillows, and also gives the space extra seating.
The client wanted a room that reflected their boy's name, "Jonah" without being literal. This nursery is a perfect example of how a room can rock a theme and stay sophisticated, timeless and relevant. This big boy's space will not time out through the use of bold color, dramatic pattern and mature furnishings.
Tricks of the Trade:
1. How to Balance a Bold Pattern: Make sure your colors have a weight to it that can hold up to the bold pattern. Designer Karen Wolf used bright mid tones to balance the whales and also showcase them.
2. Pattern Mixes: The dense wallpaper was mixed with a small window treatment print and open graphic with white field on the floor.
