A sleek black vanity is paired with a wall-mounted faucet for an urban bathroom design. A pair of small chandeliers flank the mirror, bringing a note of glamour to the space. Throughout the San Diego home, vintage advertisements are used, creating a juxtaposition between the contemporary design and retro artwork.
Large windows and doors create an open kitchen and dining area that seamlessly blend the indoors and out. Exposed black structural beams are a strong contrast against the white walls of the space, while an oversized kitchen island and sleek dining area make the space both family friendly and perfect for entertaining.
“Black and white is a classic combination that I will always love,” says designer Brooke Wagner. “Using greenery in a high-contrast black and white room is a great way to soften it up a little, while still keeping the palette neutral.”
Tamara’s bedroom is a far cry from the high-energy of the living area. Away from the bright colors and energetic patterns, this is a space designed for relaxation. The dark gray walls set an intimate mood, overlaid by black and white accents that continue the calm feeling. Warm pops of pink from the bedding provide contrast. The art in this space is simple and focused, a tribute to the designer, her husband, and the home that they share.
What was once a boring basement is now a cozy man cave, perfect for card games and casual entertaining. A contemporary black dining set and a series of framed prints by Michael Kungl create a relaxed atmosphere.
The two-story entryway makes a dramatic statement with bright white walls, cool gray marble flooring and contrasting black staircase. Artwork is used throughout the home and an abstract sculpture adds a contemporary note to the space.
