The window behind the bathtub in HGTV Dream Home 2015 features remote-controlled blinds, and the lovely blue curtains match the curtains in the master bedroom. “It is a very luxurious, spa-like experience in the bathroom,” says the home’s interior designer Linda Woodrum. “And we have beautiful drapery, so it is a very elegant and very tailored room.”
Four mercury glass pendants hang above the spacious double vanity in the HGTV Dream Home 2015 master bathroom. “I think it’s a really fun, elegant look,” says interior designer Linda Woodrum. “It’s tailored and not too girly for a man, and it has a nice elegant feel in a restrained way. We’re trying to make everybody comfortable in this bathroom.”
In this bathroom, the different hues of pink make the space pop. The chandelier is made from pale pink milk glass, while bolder colors of pink make up the rug. The salmon colored bathtub, which is the statement piece of this space, is accented by pink floral wall curtains that tie all of these shades of pink together.
In a waterfront property on the far eastern edge of Shelter Island, N.Y., architect Jack Wettling used a palette of crisp white accented with sea blue to create a relaxing master bathroom. “The colors draw in the views from the picturesque Coecles Harbor,” he says. A judicious use of high-end stone — in the marble tub surround and a narrow marble border on the wall — lends a luxe look without breaking the bank.
The wall behind this bathroom's glorious soaking tub is textured white tile. Paired with rustic details like the wood ladder (a fun way to hang towels) and woven side table, the look is multi-dimensional.
The adjacent water closet allows the home office and den to also function as an extra guest suite. When visitors are in town, they can sleep on the sofa, keep their belongings in the closet and have their own private spot to shower.
The designers wanted a vintage quality for this guest bathroom and were inspired by old washstands. A sofa table became the perfect vanity, topped with marble corbels and a shelf. Smaller round mirrors and simple sconces next to the larger washstand helped balance the room's overall scale.
In the renovation of this master bathroom, designers relocated the two sinks to one wall and installed them in custom cabinetry to create more of a cozy, furniture feel. A new freestanding, soaking tub invites pampering.
