The exercise room also includes a digital incline trainer treadmill for a good cardio workout, with a screen for surfing the web, watching TV, or working out anywhere in the world (like running on the beach in Malibu).
The mirrored wall in this workout room makes the space look larger and allows you to make sure your form is correct as you exercise. French doors let in natural light and allow a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Upholstered walls, a large custom area rug and new media seating adorn this space. A section of this newly renovated space is separated with a slanted glass wall that separates the media room from the workout room and also aids in acoustics in both spaces.
Just across the wall from the living area is the home gym. Separated from the rest of the space by a glass wall, the gym contains a television, built-in shelving for storage, work out machines and a sparring pad. The two-way fireplace pushes heat into this space, allowing the homeowner to get the most out of his workout. The glass wall that separates the spaces allows the gym to be visually connected to the rest of the basement, while remaining physically separated.
Double doors painted a bold orange compliment the orange tones of the basketball court art and the adjacent carpet in the workout room. The orange accents add a bright pop against the neutral walls and natural light from the uncovered windows. A glass half wall creates a railing for the upstairs living room while leaving it open to the court for a connected entertainment experience.
To connect the first floor and second floor spaces, designers added a colorful, geometric wall covering that runs floor to ceiling. This gives each space a pop of color, making them bright and energizing-perfect for a workout space.
To highlight the color in the space, designers used a neutral color palette to anchor the space and help reflect the natural light from the windows. Mirrors were then added to reflect the color and light, making the space look brighter.
To accentuate the natural light that pours into the space from the wall of windows designers added mirrors on all sides of the gym. By capturing the light, the space looks brighter and more open, creating an inviting, invigorating environment for this stylish gym.
Designers were challenged to create a social hub that was activated through color, so they used a neutral color palette to anchor the space, while the colorful, geometric wall covering that extended throughout the space added a pop of color. Then, to make the narrow room seem larger, mirrors were added to capture the natural light and create the illusion of a larger environment.
As patrons come up the stairs, they are greeted by the sight of a wraparound geometric wall covering highlighted by the natural light that spills through the windows. The colors reflect the light, making the space feel bright, open and inviting.
In the second story of the gym's space, the bright, geometric design covers the walls on all sides of the room. Mirrors in the front of the space reflect the color, making the space feel bright and exciting.
