Host of Vacation House for Free, Matt Blashaw, designed this bedroom with the beach in mind. The coastal design is carried out through the natural, beachy colors he uses, such as the aqua blue of the ocean and the coral of the reef. He then used natural materials, such as the wood framing around the windows and the wood end tables to bring the outside in even more. The finishing touch is the picture of the sand piper above the bed.
Soft green walls in this dining room create an ideal backdrop to showcase the gilt-framed art to best advantage. A traditional wood sideboard and white chair rail and wainscoting give added elegance to the space while black lampshades act as visual punctuation marks that give definition to the space.
Unwind on this comfortable wood hammock shaded by the lacy canopy of tree branches from above. Blue cushions add color and comfort to help you relax for hours. The flagstone patio is interplanted with a soft green groundcover and is framed by planting beds with an array of drought tolerant plants
The master bedroom was converted into a luxurious, serene haven with a color palette consistent with the rest of the apartment. A light wood floor was used in this space for an airy feel that is softer than the marble in the rest of the home. A white area rug complements the upholstered bed frame and modern white nightstands. Chrome pendant lights add a hint of glamour and just the right amount of accent light.
